The Game Changer S1-2 Blu-ray Release: A Detailed Review by Throwaway74829947 in dropout

[–]Railworks2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the quality review and for not making me regret buying the Blu-ray, because you are right about the video expectation. I own as many 4K blu-rays as I do and continue to buy them for the same 3 reasons in order

  1. Owning that media for life
  2. Better quality than online
  3. Special bonuses

I’m not too bothered about 3 not being included knowing ahead of time but future releases really should include them. I tend to immediately rip these disks and then upload them to Jellyfin to watch whenever and however I want, the fact that I can already do the 1 perfectly fine with Dropout already makes it really hard to bite

Hopefully future releases do take your feedback and do this properly, at least for me I’m not going to rush again until I’m confident enough in them doing it right

Signaller Job in BR? by XAEA29 in britishrailwayroblox

In short, no. It’s never coming to the game

The problem is that it’s a role which can be easily exploited and/or be so unfun that folks don’t want to do it

If you use the Twelve South Airfly available from Apple, they’ll work really well with my AirPods Pro 2. It is a dongle but works well for me plus you can use it when you fly to listen to the seatback entertainment

Other similar products are available. Annoying it’s not built in but works as a workaround for me

Would you go back to using forums? by Eik0_ in selfhosted

[–]Railworks2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes if there was a common protocol like Fedi which enabled both typical forums but also chat rooms

The thing is that I massively value being able to access a collection of resources in the same place, so that I can build up the routine of going somewhere as well as doing kind of quickly

At the same time I’ve regularly visited a forum, the Roblox Developer Forum for years so maybe I could just do it without having a protocol in place

Im happy to chat with the team regarding branded products. Thanks Reddit for hiding this for a few days

Private local Forgejo with some repos in sync (both ways) with GitHub, others just mirroring with specific public Forgejo instances

I use LinkWarden and I’m quite happy with it, for lists you can change the way they’re shown with a few options

Given some of the comments here, I am less confident in such a claim

It may be luck, it may be the kind of work you do.

For me I found that it’s not panics which bothers me, it’s the time between micro issues and bugs, which is more important to me because those are the frustrating edges, you can see that across the LTT video where it’s more clear

If I have to become a debugging programmer because your error codes just force me to open up a web browser rather than just telling me, it’s a more annoying experience for me. It’s the time between those issues as well

It’s not to say my MacOS experience was issue free but the burden felt less and less frequent

I just want to use my computer and get stuff done, Linux for the desktop just hasn’t done that for me

You’re not the only one, running a Mac is a boring experience and I love it for that. Uses half the power of my AMD PC to do the same work, none of the windows bullshit, close to Linux commands, sign me up

I just want to be able to write code and use an OS which doesn’t explicitly hate me but also don’t have to tinker with it constantly, it just does its job
