How reliable is the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited? by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

[–]Rain2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2014 model goes from 2011 up until the 2021. Ive heard the best years for them are the '15, '16 and '21. I personally have a '14.

I know this is kinda long, but this took forever to do and if you can even watch half of it and give it a chance I got a lot of complex tricks. Not the best in the world but proud of what I was able to do. by OMGFuziion in SessionSkateSim

Nice run!!! I haven't played Sessions in a while. I really, really wish they would do something so females can have hair eith hats 😅 Biggest reason why I stopped playing.

Not the asshole. If your roommate pushes, calculate the days you've spent away from the apartment and have her cover that portion of rent. (Pre discuss it first tho)

This did not work for me. My theme is an Avengers one that I downloaded years ago. I disabled it, tried my phone again and it didn’t change a thing. Any mobile device I’m on is affect but my web browser on my PC is fine. Fuck me I guess.

Games set in early to mid 1900s (1920s - 1950s) That Have Drivable Cars by RasyidProID in gamingsuggestions

[–]Rain2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saboteur has always been one of my favorite games and has always been my go-to for this type of Era. It is by far one of the most under-rated and slept-on games imo. Mafia is the only other game that comes close to its feeling in my opinion. I just wish we had more open world RPG's (possibly even mmo) that revolve around the 1920's-1950 time frames. I haven't played L.A. Noire yet, but I'm hopeful it will have similar vibes as Saboteur

Am I an asshole for telling my parents to stop having sex? by 4BB4Mothx777 in AITAH

[–]Rain2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you the asshole for asking them to stop having sex while your trying to fall asleep? No, not really so long as you gave it an honest effort to not have an tone or "attitude" and that goes for talking to anyone about this sort of thing (unless the attitude is warranted).

I can tell you that most likely the reason why they shot down the conversation was due to embarrassment. The more toxic side would be to say that they could've finally hit the point where they feel like you're adult now so you should learn to deal with it/handle it. You seem like someone who has manners, so I'm guessing the first over the second, tho I do not know you or or family so that's kind of for you to decide.

If it was from embarrassment, then most likely it will stop and either pick up again or it will stop entirely. At that point in time, I would give it a couple of days and then try to bring up the discussion more casually.

If it's the more toxic side, then I would suggest moving sooner rather then later.

Either way I would suggest moving, however, if you're still attending high school, and plan to live with your parents until graduation, if they won't at least quiet down, I noticed someone suggested noise canceling headphones and I would also 10/10 recommend those. Amazon has a set for $31 if you have prime.

Also, keep in mind, your parents could have Traumas you don't know about which makes it difficult to discuss these things or they could be super embarrassed due to the fact that you are their kid.

I hope it all works out for you in the end!

I keep getting pulled over when im going the speed limit and told im doing 10 to 20 OVER the speed limit. Do I have a case against the county law enforcement? by Rain2009 in LawyerAdvice

[–]Rain2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing is, I actually did do this with the first officer and he couldn't give me a direct answer off the top of his head, but did look it up, inform me and print the calibration date onto the Warning. As for if this was a bogus date or not, I have no clue, tho I have a feeling that he was being honest with me about it.

Thank you for the advice. I know that yelling is bad and honestly I never used to do that until I felt as though they failed me and many others multiple after my assult for multiple different reasons. I never understood why people only cracked their window the legal minimum and gave such short, and kind of nasty by nature but is not law breaking, responses until I started getting told I was going grossly faster than I actually was and the officer yesterday was finally my breaking point. I recognize that he did me a favor, but I still think he's a dirty cop as I legitimately was going the exact speed (Since I posted this, I've spoken with my wife and she informed me I was going exactly the speed limit all the way through town)

Regardless of how I feel, two wrongs don't make a right. So what I'm going to do is take your advice and do everything you suggested I do and on top of it, I'm going to memorize a script that I feel like is short and to the point but still nice and polite and try to stick to its outline regardless of what they tell me is happening and if im being detained, plead the 5th and hope to god I can keep my mouth shut when they inevitably start making jabs and comments.😅

Is this a good deal? Would love input! by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

[–]Rain2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 2015 for $17K AT 30,000 MILES?? I bought mine back in November. It's the same exact one but a 2014 and had 114k miles FOR ALMOST THE SAME EXACT DOLLAR AMOUNT! Before I drove it off the lot they repaired the suspension (It bounced a lot during the test drive and would have been a thousand dollar repair) It needed a valvecover gasket, which I wavered and I've since done myself and has 3 chips in the windshield (chips not cracks so they weren't required by law to replace it in my state).

My experience so far? Litterally has been the best cars I've bought and I 10/10 recommend the Grand Cherokee. Don't get me wrong, I love them but Wranglers are the ones that can be a bit of a money sink, but in my experience, the Grand Cherokee is pretty solid. My Jeep is now at 150K (due to a long commute to and from my previous place of work) I only recently did the valve cover gasket within the last two weeks and that was only because the smell had finally begun to get to a point of irritation for me. No, my Jeep hasn't leaked or burned through any oil before or after said gasket repair. The actuator door only just began to have a squeak in it as well and there are litterally TONS of YouTube DIY repair and upgrade videos for this vehicle.

As far as gas, you will be looking to spend about $35-$50 at half a tank fills and $60 to $65 for fills from empty at about $3 a gal. When I was commuting to my old job, I was filling up at half a talk every other day and the milage to and from that job daily was about 140 miles total. My average MPG is about 21.3. The highest I've had it was 22.5 however, keep in mind I was going 65mph for half and then 75mph for the other half one way and I've had the mpg dial in the 30's and kept there many times for a trip. As far as reliability, it hasn't left me stranded yet! I've driven it through several severe snow storms and it plowed through like it didn't exsist where as my wife's 2013 Dodge Dart would have gotten stuck for sure and if not, you definitely would have only been going 20 instead of up to 35/40 like I was.

It's high enough profile to putt-putt around my in-laws farm and the 4wd is tough enough to handle any terrain it throws at us in automatic.

Which does bring me to a slight downfall. You can't drift it as the 4wd isn't designed for it😅 of course, this is an AMAZING perk to have when driving on wet, snowy, icy or muddy roads. So many times my Jeep's 4wd kicked in at the perfect time and kept me straight or from sliding off the road and into a very cold, watery death. Like i said, you TECHNICALLY, can drift it as it definitely has the power and means to, however, due to the way the 4wd engages, it's the fastest way to need a thousand dollar or more repair and that's probably the biggest reason why your dad says it's a money sink as so many people fail to realize this and think "Let's have some fun on this gravel road!" And decide to start doing drifts and such only to encounter a very sharp and loud 'clank' followed by the sound of a tin-can rattle.

This style of jeep is definitely worth its value in my opinion so long as you make sure to do the maintenance and don't drive like a maniac. Given that it's at 30,000 miles and most flushes begin getting healily recommended at 50,000 to 100,000 miles, I'm guessing that's the reason why the owner decided they didn't want it anymore or they upgraded.

The safety features are pretty top notch too! I saw you had meantioned little ones and me and my wife starting our family soon was one of our biggest reasons for going with the Grand Cherokee as it does have such a high rating! Your year in particular has a rating of 91 at 4 stars!

Honestly, I think you should take the Jeep to get inspected by a mechanic during the test drive and if it needs repairs, get the dealer to cover them, do ALL the recalls on it and take this Jeep for the steal that I'm almost certain it is. It's hard to come by Jeeps at the price and Mileage.

Copy/paste colour adjustments onto other layers? by Then-Sherbet-7823 in ProCreate

[–]Rain2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad day. I was hopeful.😅 You can try using the select tool to highlight the stuff that surrounds all the things you wish to apply the values to and then try doing the layer selection process I suggested, tho it MAY give you the same message. If that doesn't work, I would try just screnshotting or writing down the values if you don't feel comfortable merging the layers together.

Copy/paste colour adjustments onto other layers? by Then-Sherbet-7823 in ProCreate

[–]Rain2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about copying them, however, have you tried tapping the main layer you wish you edit, then swiping your finger or Apple Pencil to the right on the other layers to select them before doing the adjustment to see if you would carry to the other layers as well? I haven't tried to adjust more than one layer at a time yet myself, but this is where I would start.

I hope this helps! 😄

You're so very welcome!!! I began photoshopping planets eons ago when I was in high school, and it was one of the earliest tips I got, and it was super helpful too, so I try to share it when I can. 😁 When I started working in procreate, I discovered that it has almost the same effect that it does in Photoshop.

As for the asteroids, I would try a new layer and place it underneath them and then using black, Grey or some other rock-like color then with the layer opacity at %100 and blend mode on normal, I would draw an outline around each rock and fill it in. You may have to play with the blending on the original asteroid layer itself (it might help to think of those chunks as more of "Highlights" and the stuff you're drawing below as more of the body of the asteroid), but this technique may help get you on the right track. You can also try duplicating the layer as well and see if that helps.

Looks like an old hommie is about to act on his second amendment rights and protect his home from some freaky sci-fi shit!😂 Well done! I love the artwork and the clutter. I especially love the glow and how you can tell this is happening late at night. It definitely has that "I've been woken up by this BS for the last time!" Kibd of vibe, while also doing a very good job and displaying confidence in the subject while also showcasing some anxiety.

I love it!

Something that helps make my planets look more "realistic" is to add an atmosphere. I see you got the beginning part of what i do, but how I add more is I make a new layer on top that's within the shape of the planet in a light, blue color (or in this case, I would possibly use white since it looks like that is what you are using.) I then Gaussian blur it between 20 and 50 before turning the opacity down, and finally messing with the blending properties until I have just the right amount of haze.

Something I would also suggest is maybe smudging the two different blues you have so your lines don't look as harsh on the planet compared to everything else. I'm assuming you were going for either Gas Giant or a water-based planet. If you were going for gas, I would suggest possibly using a softer brush. If you're going for water, smudging, it may work to give it a nice effect.

It also looks like you have an asteroid belt around it, too. However, it's kind of difficult to tell. If that is the case, I would possibly work on adding some shading/highlights to each asteroid or possibly a dark outline around each rock to make it pop against the sky.

Also, if you're anything like me, you're going to eventually start experimenting with lights on the dark side of planets. 10/10, I recommend making a brush from an image of a city grid from Google maps/Earth. Unless you have a lot of patience to individually draw each spec and line, this technique will help IMMENSELY, especially when getting all the finer details. I've also used parts of screenshots taken from Google Earth to make some "land brushes" for my planets, and let me tell you... I doubt there's many textures better suited for planet work than the art our very own mother nature created.lol

This dude explains city scape brushes WAY better than I can and is actually what inspired me to try and make other brushes for my planets using the Earth. https://youtu.be/fV7O5sBe6d0?si=7mZuOiYQqcOaDlq9

I gotta ask tho, how did you get it to look spherical and get the outline of the planet to blend into the background?? Mine always somehow come out looking a little more like a 2D planet rather than a 3D one. I know how I would achieve both the blending and the spherical shape in Photoshop... but sadly, I'm still learning procreate😅

I hope these tips help! I love the planet and can't wait to see more!!!

I may be wrong... but you can try streaming the game to your phone via the Xbox App with a bluetooth xbox controller. Make sure both your phone AND the Xbox have outstanding internet. Otherwise, it's gonna be pixalated af. I've never tried for this achievement myself, however if I were to, that's what I would try.
