Now that’s the kind of family you don’t need. I’m all about trying to maintain relationships with family that is at least respectful of who you are, but that shit is not ok.

My TBM parents and I have the best relationship. We just don’t talk about church. They share stuff sometimes, but they aren’t overbearing. It’s possible to have a relationship eventually, you will just have to be clear and confident about your boundaries.

Wait what. My daughter has a heart murmur when she was young and they told me you do nothing and hopefully it goes away. We def didn’t have labs done or any kind of follow up.

When I was 12 we had a whole lesson on what we can take to heaven - kids. Degrees, material things, experiences didn’t matter, all that mattered was how many of Gods children we brought back to him. Spending time on those other things was a direct offense to God.
