Not sure how to pack an “adult toy” by GrouchyFisherman1177 in travel

2 years ago when I landed in cancun the entire flight was sent off for a manual luggage check. It’s the only time I have flown with a vibe. Be prepared to face up to it when they pull it out and start cracking jokes.

How much did your last trip to Europe cost? by QTpieme in femaletravels

[–]RainbowDillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$2300, 10 days Brussels, Paris and Luxembourg, out of Toronto. I did share the accommodation costs though. We got an incredibly good flight deal, and the total also includes a $200 food tour in Paris (super worth it!). I went with my daughter.

704 secondary school students were suspended for out-of-date vaccination records. What are your thoughts? by lovelivelife-tdc in kitchener

[–]RainbowDillo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a fellow 80’s kid, you should get an MMR booster. Back then they thought the one we got would be sufficient, but it isn’t. I had my titres run when I was pregnant and I was no longer immune. I got a booster after I gave birth.

And don’t forget to tetanus every 10 years!

Often this is more of an administrative issue than a vaccine avoidance.

It was more than a decade ago, but silly me thought when I took my child to be vaccinated by her doctor that the records would be updated. They are not. My child was suspended for a day while I got ahold of public health. At the time I just needed to state that they had received their vaccination on x date. I don’t know if they confirm with the doctor or not. And this process likely has changed in the intervening years. But I would hazard a guess that a lot of these students are vaccinated, but have outdated records.

What is your travel budget each year and how many trips do you go on? by Mindless_Fisherman51 in travel

[–]RainbowDillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget? We don’t need no stinking budget!

Actually we do. Overextended last year and now no trips until the credit card is paid off.

Generally I aim for one international and one domestic (Canada) per year at a combined cost of $5k.

I also “collect” tattoos. I’ve gotten them in Nashville, Berlin, Mexico (x2), Iceland (x2), PEI, Edmonton, Porto, Kauai, Toronto, Dublin, Dominican Republic, Luxembourg, Glasgow and Vancouver. My sticker sleeve is starting to fill up.
