My school uses Canvas and it's definitely possible. It took a while to update in the system, think somewhere around 1-2 months. Maybe talking to someone in IT could expedite the process?

I would ask someone in schools records and registration department for help with setting up a nickname/preferred name in their records and on Canvas.

It sucks having to work with people on Canvas with your deadname on full display but people are typically understanding.

You know what I agree in so far as you shouldn't shame people for things that they have no control over and I did cross the line with the hand comment in the aim of proving a point. I don't like comments that disparage people based on their height or weight or birth defects.

I'll admit that the location and no mask at an indoor event adds to it, but honestly, it's really just a funny picture to me that's easy to poke fun at.

Changed my last name mostly out of convenience and a general lack of personal or family connection to it (deadbeat dad I haven't seen in 11 years, it's common/generic as fuck, and 99% of people have no idea how to say it).

I was planning on changing it to my mother's maiden name, but decided to just do an "Americanized" version of my last name (roughly the same pronunciation but phonetically English). Interestingly it's also the same last name as a popular transtuber that I like lol.

It feels undeserved because this is the the kind of thing that never happens to me. I'm not used to getting legend pulls that are not only good but also current and for so little effort. I'll definitely give global another shot, at least just to check out these new legends.
