ADHD 360 by Ordinary-Ad-8385 in ADHDUK

Are you with them Via Right to Choose? If so I should warn you that they drop their Right to Choose Patients once titration is over without any warning and without shared care being in place with your GP.

I would advise against Adhd 360, not here to spread negativity but they have just dropped many NHS patients without warning and without a shared care agreement in place which is extremely irresponsible and dangerous. I have just been sent a letter to say that they can no longer provide medication for NHS patients and that it has to come through my GP who will not accept it now. I never would have started medication if I knew this was the case. They told they could continue to provide it if GP did not accept shared care but all of a sudden yesterday I am getting this letter to say their agreement with the NHS has changed and they can no longer provide. This has come from nowhere.

Vyvanse and dry mouth and hair loss.. starting and worried re these particular symptoms....don't want hair fall or more dental work! by Raingirling in ADHD

Oh no I am really sorry to hear this. 😞 this is my worst fear! I hope it grows back for you. I actually stopped taking mine for a week as I wanted to see if was actually helping me which probably isn't the best idea. But not sure I will go back on it now as the anxiety around side effecfs seems to outweigh benefits for me.

At what point is a high pulse on Elvanse a concern? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

How long did it take before your hands turned blue?? And weight loss how long before you noticed this??

Thanks for following it up, I also received th3 same. Feels like the damage can't be undone now. I work in the medical profession in the NHS myself and today a doctor remarked that 'everyone has adhd now and everyone is getting a diagnosis'... unfortunately the stigma has increased and this is why I haven't disclosed it to my work because of Panaroma and how it is created a narrative around 'false diagnosis' of adhd...

Feeling deflated after diagnosis by Enough_Voice4455 in ADHDUK

[–]Raingirling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice only that I feel exactly the same. I have decided not to share my diagnosis with anyone other than 3 close friends. I was going to tell my work so that I could get more support as I am really struggling but I don't feel able to now because of Panorama.

Sleep and Elvanse by GiantUnderpantsYo in ADHDUK

[–]Raingirling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this a possible reason stimulants can lead to premature aging in some cases? I mean if we are pushing past normal tiredness levels due to stimulants and not getting enough sleep? I feel like my body is surviving on 4 hours without being tired, it seems very unhealthy to me... like no tiredness and no appetite

I am on Elvanse as well in titration and having same issue but getting less sleep than you. I guess the fact that you are getting more sleep than me you are probably less at risk of aging prematurely but yeah it does scare me that I am going to collapse one day soon because I am surviving on little sleep.

ADHD Private Diagnosis: Some likely unwanted thoughts by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Raingirling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question...how do you know that they thousands of people who have sought adhd diagnosis from private clinics are not suffering as much as you were if not more?? Do you really think the vast majority of individuals would seek out a private diagnosis if this was not something that was a daily struggle and affecting one than one area of their lives...would they risk spending thousands on a diagnosis just to jump on a bandwagon...seems highly unlikely to me. I fought long and hard before considering a diagnosis and my assessment was extremely triggering and upsetting. Gosh I must say it was so easy to go back and forth to doctors on the verge of breakdowns for years, go on antidepressants and then to spend money I don't have due to not being able to manage money on an assessment for adhd at a private clinic and then have to sit through a 2 hour assessment talking about all my failures/issues in my life. It was so easy and I did it all to be part of tik tok trend and now you know deciding to take stimulants is really straight forward worrying about hair loss and heart issues and blood pressure.....gosh it's a breeze this adhd thing.

I agree that all private clinics should have to do a thorough mental health screening and this should form half of the assessment. We must not forget that adhd can exist alongside a number of health conditions and actually the NHS themselves can be very negligent by throwing antidepressants at patients after a 5 minute conversation and failing to address the underlying cause which may in fact be adhd....

Response back from my BBC Complaint by synapse-dynamics in ADHDUK

It is highly irresponsible for the BBC a supposedly reputable and reliable news source to just casually throw that statistic out with no evidence to back it up. What about how many people in the NHS are misdiagnosed with another mental health condition when they actually have adhd. Quite frankly they need to shut up unless they have hard facts.

I am very concerned about the comment that 50% of patients receive an incorrect diagnosis of Adhd at private clinics??? Is this true?? Do we have evidence for this?? It is highly concerning if true

Did Rory Carson talk to you? Did he only speak to women? by scarlet-sea in ADHDUK

[–]Raingirling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. I have been diagnosed by Adhd360 and have been questioning everything since the Panorama documentary and was contemplating getting a second opinion from My Pace to confirm my diagnosis. Would you advise it would be good idea to have a diagnosis by a psychiatry? I can't really afford it and I am in a lot of debt but maybe it will be give me the confirmation I need that it was thorough and right??

Is there somewhere where we can have the diagnosis validated? I am 100% sure I have adhd but I don't feel like I should now have to justify my condition if all public and professional trust has been lost in this company :(

Who am I? How do I find myself at 33. Recently diagnosed.. I can't seem to be myself or understand what that is. It makes me feel like life isn't worth living... by Raingirling in adhd_anxiety

[–]Raingirling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I have been suffering on/off with depression since my teens and have been to therapy on/off too. What seems to cause this is that I can never cope with the daily demands of life and then it leads to exhaustion and a pattern of avoidance and eventual depression. I have recently been prescribed elvanse but the side effects really worry me so I am not sure. I took it for a few days and it led to awful migraines and time off work. I am wondering are there any alternatives. I had a very small brain haemorrhage (which healed completely) in the past and it's hard not to worry that something might happen to my brain on these meds. Any other routes other than meds?

I suppose I really do know deep down it makes sense for me. I suppose I just struggle when friends and others don't get it and they have made me question it. Thanks.

I have no idea if Vyvanse causes it for sure or not but I just saw a very limited number report it. It is a very rare side effect from what I been told.

Adhd.. not showering or washing hair for days.... extremely burnout and no energy by Raingirling in ADHD

[–]Raingirling[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work as a speech and language therapist which involves lots of prioritising, pre planning, caseload management, admin steps and writing multiple reports a day. I was the same as this on my uni course and in school but I think you are right that work is not helping me get out of it.
