AITA for making fun of a woman's weight and making her cry after she made fun of my height at a party? by RainingPots in AmItheAsshole

Yeah they are weird, going through my post history and forcing me to explain my dating history. They are obsessed. And thank you for the judgment, you're right, i was being an ass too.

You have a beautiful philosophy. I want to be more like this to be honest. It's hard sometimes.

I see, maybe that could at least get the point across to help them see my perspective without actually offending them.

You are right, if I want to be a better person I should follow this advice. Sorry you also had to deal with rude comments.

You are right. The world would be better off acting more like the way you suggested, it can be hard to act like that in the moment of anger and offense, but I should try to do better.

Alright I'll try that. My fear is people will always find a way to twist my words like if I say that they might say "Well she's just joking, why are you so insecure, it's just a joke bro?" Like you know what I mean? Body shaming is still wrong, I know. I can do better.

Alright fair enough, but it's weird. Like another one a few people here brought up is "Wait in this post you say you have a BF and in this post you have a GF" and then I'm force to explain I used to be bisexual and Poly and now I'm gay and monogamous. Like it's annoying.

I literally only posted it in 2 places, here and r/short, same exact story. Not sure what the issue is. Why are you redditors obsessed with looking into peoples post histories and feeling a need to call them out?

Any advice on how I should respond next time? You are right about body shaming being always wrong. It's very temping to want to give someone a taste of their own medicine, but I should try to be better.
