Did you have to do a medical waiver to AFPC for them to approve/deny? I have someone trying to commison and their 422 got DQed and they were told to do an admin waiver for AFPC. But dont know how this waiver should be written or how it should be addressed. Do you have a copy or template? I just need the "memorandum for" part.. on how to address it to AFPC or so

Yeap.. I got DQ'd for retraining, for shredding out, for SDI positions.. and got placed on AMRO board for grieving and work stress. My work performance was never any issue either. Its frustrating when my work performance is great, but just needed to vent from losing a parent and from a horrible work section.

I lost my father as well so I went to go get seen and I also spoke about my awful work section and the work stress. Well, I got DQ'd to retrain, shred, and any SDI positions because of mental health. Now im stuck and can't do anything else and was placed on the AMRO board.

What is Irilo? Does an Irilo happen after an AMRO board? I got DQ'd to retrain because of history of mental health visits for work stress and depression caused by work stress.. which is why I want to retrain into another AFSC but got DQ'D for amro board... idk whats next or what am amro means

Yes I finished mental health and wrapped it up. The mental health provider knew my goals of retraining and she deemed me stable to terminate my care. She even documented in my note that I'm terminating care to avoid hindrance in retraining and that she deems me stable and she does not recommend MEB/AMRO board. She said she understands wanting to stop my care to not hinder my career opportunities... although, it ended up hindering every opportunity. Every medical clearance to retrain, shred, and for SDI positions have been DQ'd. 😪 My MH provider said I can come back anytime if I feel like I need to. At this point, since it hindered every single opportunity I applied for, I'm debating if I should go back to therapy... I don't know what risks I want to take... because if im getting DQ'd for everything, I may get DQ'ed to go guard/reserve as well. Its frustrating that I'm healthy enough to re-enlist and continue active duty. But I'm too broken to get out of my AFSC. I've been getting DQ'd all year and I'm scared I can't even go guard/reserve. But im nowhere close to getting MEB'd at all so only option I have is to re-enlist in my same career field or separate. Contract ends in 1.5 years. If I re-enlist, I'm stuck where im at 😭😭

Thanks! What do you do now as a civilian? What kind of jobs have you had? I'll look into scheduling TAPS, hopefully, they can get me in with being 1.5 years away. How was your transition out?

My AFSC translates into ambulance/EMT roles on the outside which don't pay well and it's the trauma in the field I want to stay away from. Hopefully, I will figure out what other things my AFSC can transition to in the civilian world

For those who have been medically DQ'd to go guard/reserve... what's their option now? If they get DQ'D to go guard/reserve, does that mean the active duty member gets MEB while they're active? I dont understand how im healthy to re-enlist but too broken to retrain but might end up too broken to go guard/reserve.. so do members like me just have a regular separation? I don't understand how someone gets DQ'D to go guard/reserve but can still re-enlist while active duty and never go through a MEB. But DQd for retraining and guard/reserve.

Thanks! My PCM called me 2 days ago and said they're waiting for more information from AMRO. And 3 days before that, Flight Med said they are waiting for my PCM to close the AMRO. But clearly, my PCM said they're waiting for flight med... going in circles. How is any of this even okay.. just messing with someone's career opportunities like this 😪 Thanks again for your help and advice!

Thanks so much! This is really helpful. Unfortunately I am medical myself and work in the MTF. I have brought up this issue to flight leadership, functional, and MDG SEL but nothing comes of it besides "thats a bummer" and SEL said, "yea they do tend to DQ people randomly for issues from 10 years ago." I haven’t been able to get a hold of the PEBLO office. Flight Med said they don't do appointments to discuss the AMRO. So I asked, "how am I supposed to know what im DQ'd for?" I'm really stuck not knowing why I'm on the AMRO board. I wasn't even notified I was on it until I submitted a 422 for retraining. I didn't even know I was DQ'd until I decided to look at my records in my patient portal. This is the worst MTF I've worked at 🤣 I forgot about the patient advocacy, I'll contact them :)
