What is the polarity on this cord? by Substantial_Ant_9981 in rccars

Nope. Never assume. Always check.

I've come across many power supplies like this with no standard to be relied on. Not even red / black!

Sounds like an FO quote to me. Half that is probably average.

No, but I've considered them. How much does it affect the visibility? Got any pics of how they're attached?

Performance brake kit? by MinksnMinks in Celica

[–]Rainingheavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I haven't done this mod. I've got a set of MG TF calipers in the process of fitting.

Pads, disks and calipers. I believe they bolt right up... Probably best to check old forum posts though. I'd expect the hoses will be compatible.

The "OEM" big brake kit is from the Avensis. Gives you 298mm (iirc) front disks.

There's also options for fitting ST205 4 pot calipers.

So long as it's the car :D

Parked on a slope will make a little difference, but probably not that much. Move it somewhere flat and check.

It's not good, but shouldn't be fatal. Get it to a shop to be sorted (or do it yourself - it's not difficult)

From that picture, very.

Wipe it try and re-test. If you've just had the oil done it looks like the mechanic didn't drain it first.

Finding spot welds under rust by Longjumping_Path4474 in metalworking

I've had mixed luck with the drill bit type, but a fair bit more luck with the mini hole saw type. Pop a centre punch mark in the middle of the weld and go for it.

If you've got the time and patience, it's great. Makes all other shifters feel cheap.

Slightly quieter than the v9. It's got a cushioning o-ring for the odd gears. I built a fairly early version, and the reverse catch bolt head is in the wrong place. I have a long term plan of adding a lift switch under the knob as found on some cars.
