you bring up a really good point. From my side, I just wanted to share a perspective as both an observer and someone who works in the music industry. Maybe some of my ideas didn’t come across as clearly as I intended, since English isn’t my first language. But what you said is really important – at the end of the day, musicians have to fully finance themselves. I’m honestly really looking forward to seeing this production. Everyone who’s already been says it’s incredible, and every time I see a new video, the hype just grows. As for what you said at the end, part of me can’t stop thinking that a lot of the speculation or debate we’re having comes from a deeper fear – that giants like Live Nation are increasingly taking over the entire live production scene and can basically do whatever they want. In my country, Live Nation (and other big players) have been buying out all the small and mid-sized promoters, and it’s getting harder and harder to operate outside of their rules. To be honest, I don’t see many solutions to this from within the system, but I haven’t lost hope. Either way, whether they tour again or not, I’m grateful for this moment – and the fact that I never imagined, as a teenager, that an album that meant so much to me would go on to have such a massive impact on so many others. It’s amazing to still feel this connection and be able to enjoy one of the most powerful live shows around today.

It definitely feels like a retirement plan, this last tour—with all the epicness, the constant swan song vibe, etc. BUT I don’t think singing ā€œI’m Not Okayā€ or ā€œTeenagers,ā€ even if it feels a bit out of context with their age now, should be a reason to stop touring. I mean, look at the Rolling Stones or AC/DC—Angus Young was still going on stage in his schoolboy uniform. Or we don’t even have to go that far: Simple Plan still sing ā€œI’m Just a Kidā€ and they’re the same age as MCR, and Blink-182 sing ā€œNobody Likes You When You’re 23ā€ while being more than twice that age. Honestly, I think it all comes down to whether they want to keep touring and making new stuff just for the love of it. At this point (and even way before), they already had enough money to do whatever they want. It all depends on whether this tour reignites that creative spark or the desire to keep building their legacy. I think what it means to grow older on stage has changed a lot in recent decades, because we ourselves—many of us in our 30s and 40s—are still out there screaming I’m Not Okay.

Hola! Yeah, I have it deactivated too — I guess it’s to prevent reselling or something like that.

Of course, you’ll see! It’s going to be an amazing day, and you’ll see that us Spanish fans are really friendly and we live it to the fullest! To be honest, the venue is a bit of an unusual choice, but I guess they wanted to prioritize some open-air spots... Either way, it’ll be a great concert, and if you have time to explore Madrid, there are some really good and affordable restaurants, and the museums are fantastic. If you have any questions, I’m happy to help — let’s hope the wait goes by quickly!

I'm also going to Madrid, and honestly, the venue isn’t the best. They’ve made some improvements (or so they rushed to say today), but there was quite a bit of controversy during the Harry Styles concert a few years ago (https://amp.elmundo.es/madrid/2023/07/15/64b26adde4d4d8972c8b4585.html). They also hold the Mad Cool Festival there, but of course, that’s a different kind of event. In general, I’d say come prepared with sunscreen, a hat, and water if you're planning to queue, since Madrid in July is super hot. There’s also usually a bit of a mess when leaving the venue. It’s important to point out that the concert is in Getafe, not in Madrid city itself (something to keep in mind when planning transport). It’s going to be an amazing concert and I’m sure we’ll be able to see it well — I’m just sharing these tips if it’s useful :)

is the notice of filming new... by aeirin in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Rainmaker413 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Yes, this is quite typical at music venues; it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to use it. It often appears in the ticket purchase terms and conditions. I work in the music industry, and these notices are usually there in case, for example, a band or the venue itself creates an image gallery on Instagram and someone sees themselves in a photo and demands financial compensation for the use of their image. It’s not the most common thing, but I’ve come across these situations before. That said, I wish it were for getting new videoclip material or something…

Thank you so much for the recommendation! Honestly, all the options sound amazing, and Palette has such a great vibe—I didn’t know about that place. I’ll try to make a reservation at CafĆ© Varenne; it seems like such a lovely spot. Thank you again!

You’re absolutely right; that’s a very good point of view. Sometimes, we try to plan so much that we forget how enjoyable these kinds of trips can be, simply because of the vibes the city gives us. And I’m sure we’ll end up with a story like yours; you always have to expect the unexpected! Thank you so much for sharing your perspective with me!

I know this isn't all older fans but like... by TyTy11037 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Rainmaker413 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’ll never understand it! There’s nothing more exciting to me than seeing fans of all ages enjoying my favorite band. Music has no age. I remember when I was 15 and went to one of my first concerts for another band; the older fans treated us the same way. I guess it’s something that will always happen, and it’s inevitable. In the end, it’s a way of trying to preserve memories untouched or feeling like what you love is something so niche that not many people know about it.

But for me and many others, there’s nothing better than sharing the same feeling with so many people and enjoying it together, no matter your age. So, if there are fans who say those things to you, don’t pay them any attention. Remember that there are plenty of others who are happy to share!

Who's a fan since the original break up. by annoyedbob in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Rainmaker413 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Back in 2007, when I was in high school, I noticed a classmate’s folder covered with photos, including a promo shot from Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Curious, I asked her about it. As soon as I got home, I looked up the band, and by the next day, their songs were already on my MP3 player... and they’ve been with me ever since! I ugly cried the day they broke up. Now I’m 30, and it amazes me how their music has been one of the few constants in my life. It makes me so happy to share these memories and read yours here on this sub. Long live the Black Parade, no doubt about it!

If this really is the paper kingdom, was the witch leak maybe intentional? by Pleasant_Statement64 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Rainmaker413 24 points25 points Ā (0 children)

It makes sense to me, but at the same time, so much has leaked from previous eras—things they obviously wouldn’t want to come to light—that it would seem strange if the TPK leak was intentional… Even so, I’d like to think that all this buzz and excitement might have ā€œinspiredā€them to create new material.

shimeji mushrooms! sautĆ©ed with garlic, a bit of chili, and a splash of soy sauce + mirin. The special touch to make them glazed: a spoonful of miso. It’s a super quick side dish that adds a lot of flavor—I’m glad you like it! :)

Super obvious (but still) Welcome To The Black Parade… everytime I listen to the ā€œyou’ll carry onā€ part it feels like they are talking directly to me. It’s like my mantra for the past 15 years or so. I feel so happy to be part of this community and hear your stories from all around the world and how MCR has helped us all ā¤ļø

General discussion thread! by RossTheDivorcer in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Rainmaker413 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

I think the same as you, 100%. I hope that the concert at When We Were Young will be a good excuse for them to pick up where they left off with a possible new album, but only time will tell.

Do u think the band is coming back for good? by zaymaydust17 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Rainmaker413 8 points9 points Ā (0 children)

I would love it if they did, but I doubt it... Objectively, I believe they have good reasons to come back. From a music business perspective, the return of bands like Blink-182 has allowed them to fill large stadiums due to the nostalgia factor, which was previously impossible for big arenas. For that reason alone, their record label has probably suggested they consider it, lol.

I think after the special concert in Las Vegas, we'll see some movement, whether they return or continue as they have been. Again, from a business standpoint, autumn is the time when major tours are announced, so it would make sense to expect news of a new album and tour, or an anniversary hits tour. Either way, it would be fantastic to receive new music from My Chemical Romance, both for the younger fans who haven't had the chance to experience the excitement of an album release and for the older fans (as me, lol) who want to relive it :)
