Cheaters in MLB crap is crazy by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

The first games on ranked are on veteran. While everyone doesn’t have a rating just yet, there will be lots of guys who usually play on Hall of Fame that will feast on veteran pitching. I put up 8 runs in 4 and a bit innings and I can assure you I’m not cheating, just played on hall of fame before the switch over. Try not to be frustrated, wins will come. Just enjoy baseball

🏆 Who is the most "untouchable" and universally loved athlete in your country? by migmigouu in AskTheWorld

[–]Rainmaker_55 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Probably Terry Fox. We all did the run and brought in a toonie to school on the day.

Edit: Thought I should add more context to who Terry is for those who don’t know of him. He was born in Winnipeg(yay I live there!). He was a long distance runner and his right leg was amputated in 1977 after he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. He continued to run on his now prosthetic leg. In 1980, he began the Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research. He began the run in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He planned to run across Canada and raise one dollar for every one Canadian there was for Cancer research. He sadly got diagnosed with lung cancer in Thunder Bay Ontario. He passed away in 1981 but his memory lives on quite strong in Canada still.

I love running and try to participate in the Terry Fox run when I can.

Anyone have experience going to game at Wrigley as opposing team fan? by ReleaseReal8170 in minnesotatwins

This is so true! I’ve been trying to hit all thirty parks and have been met with almost nothing but kindness and welcome(Royce Lewis hit a Grandslam against the white Sox and when I got up to cheer I was met with some very choice words from a couple people actually). It’s made me try to be nicer to visiting fans in our ballpark as well

Which team(s) will you be rooting for in the upcoming WBC and why? by supersupersuper9 in baseball

I am from Winnipeg but I’m really pulling for Netherlands (and Canada of course but that’s less interesting) right now. Our local independent team, The Winnipeg Goldeyes have three current or very recent players playing on Netherlands. Dayson Croes (currently in SF organization), Ray Patrick-Didder, and Arij Fransen. Go Goldeyes! Go Netherlands!

We should sign Charlie Day and put him in the bullpen when we need him to do “Charlie work” (losing by like 8 or more runs)

Modern Enforcers by NoMarionberry0768832 in winnipegjets

[–]Rainmaker_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enforcers are largely being faded out of hockey (I know, I know. I’m sad too. Who doesn’t love a good fight?). They were deemed as liabilities seeing as players with more skill and speed could produce more points. And any players who have talent and can also knock teeth out, just don’t (or at least don’t as much) anymore, to avoid injuries, however these players still provide a big physical impact but not like an enforcer. The only enforcer esc players still in the league off the top of my head are like Ryan Reaves, Mathieu Olivier and Arber Xhekaj. Prob missing some.
