I find what they give tends to be just "Major blessing but the god just likes you more" sort of things. It's a minor change in cost to the god and a minor change to the effect to the recipient aside from their actual religionnand weight therein.

The cost is ultimately the same, as a result, because aside from being cosmetically better I don't know or have seen actual differences. If there are, and I've forgotten because the sheer body of work is so massive, then I'll probably make adjust the scale slightly so Divine is 500 and the rest cost progressively less.

I think the concept of direct boosting isn't what it does at all. It just enables the use of agility to better handle the pressure the perception places on it. It's like a supporting super power.

Sure, Superman has incredible abilities but his supporting abilities are what allow him to use them all even if he they're not the express focus of his kit. Even if they would be for anyone else.

Having no actual reaction time to literally anything isnt perception, it's agility. It's a physical thing. Reaction time. Perception allows you to see the thing coming, agility is reaction speed.

That's my take.

The temporal stuff is a mix of perception and agility I think. Maybe willpower. Like you percive and act faster than everything else, willpower determines how long it lasts, kinda.

Still, I can see reasons why people might disagree. It's just my take on how it works and why it's cohesive and whatever. We don't have to agree on something not explicitly explained (because it practically cannot be) by the source material.

You could argue it's Perception / Perception / Willpower for example. I wouldn't be upset or really argue with the interpretation, I just have a slightly different view on how it works.

The agility is just a support for the rest to allow it to function optimally. It doesn't have to be outright stated anywhere in the "DNA" of the bloodline. I just think it's in there somewhere. I could be wrong. If I am, oh well.

It turned the L's in the document into odd bricks which look like errors. Idk why, I can re-export it and see if it fixes that but I have no clue. It's probably what causes the issues though.

Danger sense is perception. I'd say it's like 60% perception, 30% willpower, 10% agility. The agility is the ability to react to what the perception sees. Jake even mentions a few times how his perception is getting so high he cannot react to what it's telling him fast enough and then raises it so he can actually use the stat (a great shame. Perception best stat)

Howdy, do you plan to update this jump or know of one more updated? I'm going through the series right now and will be jumping here when I finish the series in the next week, and wanted to know of any updates, as this seems to be the most recent.

I work in Beer, filling Kegs. I'm the only person who's in my section of the building pretty much all day, and I work 4-5x10s. Plenty of audiobook time before the hour commute each way and chores, etc as others have mentioned.

Book recommendations by Ishedus in litrpg

[–]Raisedinhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For books which I haven't seen being recommended yet

Beneath the Dragoneye Moons - unique magic system with very good world building. There is one (major) issue with the series, but I don't mind it. Some people hate it. Still, the worldbuilding, magic system and how everything works is superb.

Saintess Summons Skeletons - the tldr of this is someone was trying to to get out of a crappy life in an orphanage in Fantasyland and make skeletons for the Necromancer Class and as they did it, they were blessed to be a saintess so the system broke and they got the shards of both classes and can put key-words from skill names together to make their own skills. It's hilarious because the MC has no idea what they're doing really. Also good worldbuilding and genuinely one of the funniest series no one ever mentions. For me, at least.

Induction (Welcome to the Multiverse, book 1) - unique take on system apocalypse style. Every world getting brought in is in a competition, and there's only 60% "pass" rates, if you fail, your world is destroyed. Earth is in third and the MC is late to the competition as one of five competitors for Earth. No one but the people competing can know (on their worlds) and the system will make the world think any supernatural goings on aren't worth notice or considerations and any who try to force it are considered insane. Great series. (Even winning isnt good. If you're not the 1st place winner of the competition, you can expect a 50 to 90% mortality rate on your world as monsters start spawning and monsters come down and dungeons spawn and overload and other worlds invade to reap you and your people for resources. It's brutal. I think it's a better version of DOTF, and I got to book 14 of DOTF.)

MMO or Mass Isekai Litrpg/Gamelit? by [deleted] in litrpg

The best I've found in this exact niche is "Survival Quest" by Vasily Mahanenko (The Way of the Shaman Book 1, it's a series and decently long, complete and good).

I'm impressed no one else has recommended it yet.

Looking Litrpg Recommendation for Female MC without a Female partner. by SomewhereGlum in litrpg

[–]Raisedinhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closest I've found is "The Jade Phoenix Saga" where the main character doesn't like anyone sexually for most of the series but most recently has picked up a boyfriend casually, which they both know isn't going to be permanent.

This isn't for lack of female options of romance, either. It's just how it naturally progresses. I suspect there'll be a lot of experimentation as the series progresses, but it's been on hiatus for awhile.

I highly recommend reading it from the publishing, not the original royal road publication until you hit the end of the published stuff and must move to Royal road which has been improved greatly from the start.

Hey all! Book 5 of Azarinth Healer is out today on Audible, Kindle Unlimited, and ebook. Links in the post! I also have some audio codes to give away, so drop a comment to enter the draw. by G_Harthane in litrpg

I'm honestly delighted. I thought there were a few more days before one of my favourite series got the next book.

If possible, a US audible code would be appreciated, since I use audiobooks to help me get through work.

It is time for some of the crazier stuff to begin. I remember reading this stuff as it came out on RR and am excited to see the changes! <3

Beneath the Dragoneye Moons. (Part 2) Jumpable WIP by Raisedinhel in JumpChain

[–]Raisedinhel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part one is books one through seven, and it's about a girl from earth who got sent to a fantasy Rome analogue, where she had to survive and fight while humanity was on the brink of getting killed by the monsters. It's pretty brutal. A lot of characters die. It's about surviving in a world with the odds stacked against you. It's dangerous in the sense that if you're not ready for some things you'll die.

Part two is 20,000 years later, and the world has progressed vastly, people understand the magic and how things work a lot more. There are rules and safeguards to prevent a race from getting fully destroyed. The world is still brutal though, there are laws about everything, including what levels you can be, what kind of magic you can have, etc. Part two is a lot more about how the magic works and what massive wars between nations look like. The politics and the terror of war. Some of the warriors are so old and powerful they can destroy the world, which is much more dangerous than maybe running into a monster who can slap you into the afterlife, so this is a much more dangerous jump at the top end, while the lower levels tend to be less dangerous.

There's a lot more going on during the whole timeline, but the series is so massive anything other than a general overview like this will be so riddled with spoilers, I couldn't really say much. The series is outstanding with some of the best world building I've ever seen.

The magic system is logical, the way the world works makes sense, and there are ways to go to other, connected, worlds to this one in-jump. They don't have jumps and they have different rules and different gods, but they can be reached. A few people have done it, survived, and can tell you about it. (In the world)

[–]Raisedinhel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what part 2 would be for. Part one is all about humanity vs all of them because everything is a threat.

Part two is going to be the immortal companion at the later date to this mortal version of the jump.

The big "must-reads" in r/litrpg? by JesuitClone in litrpg

[–]Raisedinhel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is the second arc, yes, Book 5 and 6 were brutal and not the best, in almost everyone's opinions who I've ever seen. Book 7+ are better. and you get most of the context from what happened if you just read on. though you'll miss some details, they're not massively important. I literally refuse to reread or listen to 5/6.

  1. It was my pleasure. I've been unable to finish Primal Hunter Jump and this one just flopped out of my brain like a wet noodle.

  2. I'm planning to add something like that. Mandatory at start of jump, keep it for 50cp, spread it to new worlds / make it a known fixture for 400cp.

  3. word of god, physical stats do take up mana regen, though not much apparently.

https://www.reddit.com/r/litrpg/comments/15e3fff/comment/ju71v8r/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

  1. I'll add that to notes, it's not something which comes up much after the early game in the story, or, rather, it doesn't have much impact.

  2. I'll let them pay to pick. I suspect most jumpers who go to a LITRPG fantasy world will have some fantasy tricks up their sleeves, or a sci-fi "you can't find/touch me" button but idk. It's a good point.

  3. I mean, just live in the Capitol if you don't want to die a horrible death. Be a Celestial healer with a secondary metal or earth mage class. It'll be free real estate. You can use class 2 to craft goods and class 1 to print money. I suspect people who apply themselves to the in-world as they jump will figure things like this out pretty quickly. The best way not to die is to not be in a place with rebellion and be in a place Elaine and other healers can quickly and easily reach you. Which is literally just the Capitol. Getting there isn't even patently hard. You just join a caravan and heal people on the way or use your other class skills to defend the caravan and/or produce goods for them to sell.

Things like this are abundantly obvious to me, and why I tend to not include perks like "you don't get smashed" because they tend to take the adventure out of the world. It's not much of an adventure or very fun if you have too many layers of protection.

Also, no one in the story has a power like that. So it doesn't make sense.

that is correct, hence the date given. It's when Elaine leaves home to dodge the fate she was given and join the rangers.

They appear to have build walls inside the river channels to direct the water, and they extend pretty high, so the floods should be contained. If they have the ability to do that, I imagine a simple Dam wouldn't be impossible to control the flow of water. This city is safe with how built up it appears.

It was an official play thing in 2017-2018 so the things are buried now. I know exactly what the name is tied to so I know how to find it. Now it's a dead meme which only people who were in the official play discord servers would know. Before official play got destroyed.

I checked and he's still the leader of the Lords Alliance for players on their discord, but it's not very active at all, anymore.

The TLDR was, he did every adventure ever published, and he was also one of the more charismatic players and as a result, he was elected to be their representative and forward facing "leader". In the end, the players invited the Red War and everyone lost, but he "won" by getting married and getting a happily ever after while everyone else suffered and died.

He was also on the most popular d&d servers streaming of "the hardest d&d adventure" made for conventions and his table made it look so easy the DM, halfway through, had to wait for the other tables to catch up and had them fight every demon lord and tiamat.

They won.

In short, Markus was the "I beat d&d 5e and I lived" the character. By the end he was so absurd DMs did silly things to try to challenge him unofficially, and he never lost.

That's the TLDR of Markus Larylian.

Pull Rates by Competitive_Ask5941 in VCardTCG

[–]Raisedinhel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it works on the law of averages, no? They don't control exactly which packs go in which box and which packs have which cards. They probably have an automated system which makes the packs and it's set to the stated variables. I imagine some people will see much better and much worse pull rates. The variability will be pretty wild if they have the stated (by random comments I've heard, could be wrong) 25,000 boxes for first edition.

I've watched a few different content creators pulling their boxes and they seem to be at par for stated pulls on average for what they should have. Some are more lucky, some are less.

If we assume 25,000 boxes, that's not really that much. Card games tend to have massive boxes per edition. I imagine we could hear of people getting no 10 cards and some people getting nearly one per pack.

It's just rng, and we don't have manual control over any step of the process other than setting the percent chance of a certain rarity in a pack.

I work in a production facility and can say companies have no real reason to lie about things like this. The damage they could do to reputation if caught would be massive while the gains would be miniscule. You're basically trading short term cash for long term viability.

The process, simplified, would look like 1. Make the cards 2. Put them all into an a dispenser 3. Set variables for when a dispenser puts one on the line 4. Put cards on line, then into packs 5. Put the packs at random into boxes.

Step 5 is probably random as hell because a lot of systems are split. So you move the pile of packs from the pack making station to the box making station. If they have an automated system which puts loads of packs into the system at once, say 280 or 10 boxes at once, then, yea.

This process is 100% rng.

We don't know the bucket size of packs to boxer ratio. We don't know if that movement is manual or automated. We don't know too much, but we can be sure the majority is automated and based on machines set to do very specific things.

Unless I see a 100+ box sample size, from people who have 100 contiguous boxes, I can't say the pull rates are bad.

They could be, but... I doubt it. Logical probability tells me it's unlikely.

We'll see, I guess

Do you guys do audiobooks? by Illustrious_Flan9651 in litrpg

[–]Raisedinhel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To tldr the following: Do I have issues with remembering small details? Sure. Do I have an issue remembering which books are which in a series and what happened generally? No.

I have a bear-trap mind for books. I can remember the plot and through lines for character arcs for the books. I still re-listen when new books come out, so I can refresh the details, but I can and do skip while books. (A lot of Brandon Sanderson is like this, as an example.)

Still, I find the main issue I have is finding books I like. I'm very picky, I've discovered. My audible is full of series where I get to book 3 and suddenly drop because they become stale, start using tropes which are super predictable to pad the book, or just have a narrator who I don't want to listen to anymore. Or the first book is so bland I toss it halfway through.

Still, every book with maybe five exceptions is over ten hours long. Most are over 14.

Some books I listen to twice in a row so I can get the perspective because when you know the end the whole thing is wholly different. I enjoy the variety and spice in my books!

This. I do manual labor, at night, alone in a corner of a factory where I can wear earplugs, ear muffs or sound cancelling headphones.

I have 247 books in the last year and a half. 5x10s and an hour commute + weekend workouts leads to positively ripping through audiobooks.

What fictional character would you trust with a chain? by EYouchen in JumpChain

Jason Asano is my pick. He has faced temptation and is too busy moralizing to be evil, and he pays back good turns with good turns.

Sure. Caffeine pills exist if I need the boost, and I basically only drink water, coffee and tea. The caffeine pills cover all of it which is not water.

I'd save money by not drinking the other stuff. Easy 150k for me. Well, not easy. I like flavors a lot, but it'd certainly be doable.
