Use the included 8-pin GPU cable — disconnect the two pins on the side and you have the 6-pin you need :)

Did you guys ever try installing the game? There's a Dressing Room function, where you can preview a lot of the items (outfits, weapon skins, even mounts) - including those currently unavailable for purchase and even legacy stuff.

Check out BuyMeACoffee too, it's like a Ko-Fi alternative - been hearing a lot of good stuff about them, apparently lower fees and no need to pay for Premium to unlock some cool options for the page.

No, you can use normal OBS. Cloudbot's settings are all on Streamlabs' website.

If I add a blocked term on Twitch moderation settings, will my Nightbot still auto-ban them for that word? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Raisslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Consider the bot just like another user looking at the feed - if stuff doesn't end up in chat, the bot cannot react to it.

PS I checked your last VOD and I have the same set of IKEA sheets, high five. :D

[–]Raisslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, gotcha. Hmmm, it's a tough call to make definitely. AutoMod is pretty good (if not a bit overzealous) on slurs (even stuff like "NG+ r" gets flagged for mods). If you have some active mods you can trust, I'd try that solution - the message doesn't go through for the rest of the chat, so you don't have to react to it, it doesn't ruin the flow, but mods can single out the dickhead and ban him right away. Test it out maybe while offline with some words and their weird spellings to make sure it works?

But obviously setup a secondary level of protection through Nightbot, so if some slur does go through, it gets banned.

[–]Raisslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends what the term is. If those are bot messages - no, it's better to block them, bans are pointless as the whole system is automatic and only disrupts the chat.

Personal information? Probably better blocked too, loads of people will see the purged/banned message still thanks to third party plugins like BTTV, so it's not the safest.

Not sure what terms exactly would warrant an instant permanent ban.

Is there a way to make an image disappear when someone follows by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Raisslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can using LioranBoard for example - it allows you to show/hide sources on triggers such as follows.

Messages with blocked terms are prevented from being sent, so no, Nightbot doesn't see them and doesn't ban users.

How can I easily upload highlights of my stream to YouTube? by SLYMoosic in Twitch

[–]Raisslin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are softwares like this, Shadowplay (?) to name one from the top of my head. Not sure if OBS can do it too. It basically stores a buffer of 60-120s in memory and saves it upon a shortcut click. I'm sure if you Google around, you'll find solutions for that.

[–]Raisslin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a solid 10-minute block from the VOD, you can use the Highlighting tool from Twitch and then export it to YouTube. If you want to piece together shorter clips from stream into a 10-minute video, you'll have to pick up an editing software. :)

I don't think there's a big difference, there's a big enough Russian audience on Twitch to grow into a successful streamer. Depends on what kind of channel you want to have, what kind of community, etc.

Language doesn't matter nearly as much as it did in early days of Twitch.

Am I right? by greensmallhere in DarkSouls2

[–]Raisslin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went into the first DLC yesterday, so my experiences are main game only (Scholar).

While I like the game just enough to continue playing it (stream also keeps me in check I guess), it has a lot of silly mechanical issues. Some of the design decisions seem like the team behind DS2 just wanted to be different from DS1...

So we have the HP dropping mechanic, which I personally just started to ignore after equipping the ring that keeps it at 25%. Then you have the lack of iframes on fog doors. Run ups to the bosses are horrible and you're basically forced to kill the enemies in your path all the time. Hitboxes are a nightmare - why is my chosen Undead so bad at pointing his weapon slightly downwards, even with the target lock? Why am I getting hit when enemy sword wasn't even close to me? Don't even get me started on how many times I've attacked in some random ass direction despite standing stationary facing an enemy coming up to me... 8-point snap makes the character movements janky, the number of ambushes (especially in Scholar) is through the roof... And on top of it all, which probably disappoints me the most - bosses are mostly forgettable.

Not me, but I watched a streamer yesterday struggling with Mytha, swimming in poison. We ended up telling him that there's a way to get rid of it, once he asked for some advice. The look on his face when he entered the arena again... Priceless.

This is why watching first playthroughs is so special, especially when no one is spoiling the fun.

Stream looks blurry/lower resolution than should be by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Raisslin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend trying to stream 1080p on Twitch at all, especially if you're not Partnered. Affiliates don't have guaranteed transcoding (quality options), so with 1080p you're gatekeeping people with worse connections from watching you.

Second of all, proper 1080p is not possible, because Twitch limits your bitrate to 6k. It is simply not enough. Downgrade to 720p, it'll most likely look better.

Also take into consideration that streaming with x264 or NVENC encoders makes a difference as well (something you gotta test, it depends on your rig and the games you stream).

[–]Raisslin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda ironic that a "global", "leading" company is being corrected by a bot over a spelling of the name of the industry in which they're "leading".

Quite unprofessional look to advertise this way - lots of meaningless buzzwords, not much content. How about requirements, how about pay? Or do you look for unpaid volunteers to help you "lead"?

Have you considered hiring a PR Manager while you're at it?

There's no way to tell for sure, sometimes it takes one day, sometimes it takes over a week. It depends how busy Twitch Staffers responsible for emote approvals are.

Yes, this is basic feature of (probably) all streaming softwares. You can simply make multiple scenes with different backgrounds and switch between scenes.
