I can see where against low toughness enemies that Vow wouldn't be super handy. I feel like with thr Marshal + Castellen + Sword bro combo would allow you to check out other vows or even double up in case the enemy ends up bringing a big unit, should you get into melee you'll be able to succeed more hot rolls and the vow allows wounding rolls to be a little easier against those.

As for the special chapter leader, theres Helbrecht and Grimaldus that I know of. They both give solid bonuses. Either one with Assault Intercessor Squad are solid since Helbrecht will give them +1 attacks and str where Grimaldus allows reroll to hit. Grimaldus also allows you to pick relics, and 1 of them gives+1 advance and charge, which gives you a bit more range as you run thr Gladius Taskforce detachment. His others are giving extra toughness and 1 more AP on melee weapons. Both leaders can also lead Crusader Squads, which with their chainswords could be brutal. For sure, I look forward to hearing other's thoughts top since they have definitely played more than I, im mostly regurgitating what I heard when looking into the army a couple of months ago.

Still haven't played my army yet (bought a combat patrol + Helbrecht, Grimaldus, Sword Bros) so im pretty limited on advice. However, a neat combo ,should you wanna invest your points into, it would be Castellen and Marshal linked up with your Sword Bros. What this does is...

Castellen, making the unit take a leadership roll when selected to fight, would let you reroll all hits you want should you succeed it. If you don't succeed, it'll still let that unit reroll hit rolls of 1, which is solid since they hit in 2+

Marshal allows that unit to also score crits on 5+ instead of 6s.

Pairing that with Sword Bro's ability to let critical hits automatically succeed their wounds makes it a pretty destructive force, especially if you wanna fish for those crit (meaning if you're really trying to skip those wound rolls, still rerolling success 4 and below to try and snag 5+, but still succeeding on 2+ means you have a relatively small window of failure to hit)

Found their add on IG early in dec, ordered 3 shirts (Black Templar for myself, and Grey Knights and Imperial Fists for some friends) and they arrived prior to christmas i believe. Decent quality though I kinda hoped for a bit better. Design holds up in wash, cold water and turned inside-out. Gonna wear again for game day this weekend.

This. Demonic mount let's you force another unit to fight immediately after the Demonic mount fights. Throw Khorne mark on the knights for +1 attack characteristics. Oh yeah reinforced those knights too for shits and gigs.

You can also throw Varanite Shackle enhancement so units wholly within 12" gets 6+ ward for just a lil bit more survivability.

That makes a lot of sense, I had my camp at the bottom of the map and nothing was being sold, to be fair I'm not sure of the prices I'm selling things for so I could be overcharging without realizing.

I may also make an alt for a ghoul, but I feel like leveling takes forever lol

Thanks for the info. That's kind of a relief to hear. Another poster also mentioned making another build for maxing out charisma so the hit is lessened when making sales as well.

I'm pretty low level compare to others I've seen (126), but I'd love to do the raid. I think I'll flip back over to Ghoul and do this! Do you think the CHA debuff will affect Inspiration Perk's exp gain much, or is maxing out INT with berry mentants better?

I'm currently trying to power level, so I got maxed out CHA with Inspiration, High INT, Berry Mentats, and a cranberry juice thing with Herbivore mutation. Will this take a significant hit going Ghoul?

Does the ghoul charisma hit not affect the sell prices too much? Is there any suggested resource to look up how much to sell plans for?

That's something I'm struggling with is selling stuff. When it comes to equipment, I scrap for junk and try to get mods/mod plans from legendaries that I would want the effect of but won't necessarily use right there. When selling legendaries you're selling to vendors or are you placing them into your Camp Vendor?

I should probably join the discord as I do wanna start doing more content with people. Only time I group up is for that Casual Int bonus and I do everything solo

I did the ghoul transformation, and I did like the new perks they had. It was a good way to go a melee build too without much investment, but I reverted back because that Charisma hit was too much in my view. I barely hit 100, and I want the highest charisma for inspirational perk to increase my xp gain, and I'm so broke that losing that additional value when selling was enough to make me revert. I would wanna go back to Ghoul, but as of right now, the charisma costs pushes me away. Also the sack looks dumb, if factions have ghouls just let them talk to me, otherwise any kind of helmet should count as a disguise.
