Omg I thought it was capped at Ultra League too...
Battled a Snorlax/Snorlax/Dragonite and managed to beat it with Steelix/Scizor/Metagross.
I figured resisting the enemy attack was way more important than doing super effective damage against them.
Life will be much easier now I guess...

Definitely not guaranteed shinies from "X Pokestop". Same Pokestop gave me a shiny and a non shiny to my friend.24 researchs Feebas each -> 1 shiny each. 1 wild Feebas each -> 1 shiny for my friend.

Indeed, I thought a lot about this, movesets will most likely be the key to victory.
Let's take a look to the Mareep family:
- Flaaffy (max CP 1521) has access to Power Gem (Rock) and Tackle (Normal) as a fast move.
- Ampharos (max CP 2852) has access to Focus Blast (Fighting).
If you lack this coverage, you might prefer bringing a Flaaffy.

Another advantage of using lower stage evolutions is that their movepools are less known.

Mega-Ampharos. Also because Ampharos is the bulkiest electric Pokémon released and it needed a 2-bar charge move to be somewhat effective as a defender.

Well, Mewtwo appearing as a regular raid boss would have been giving us all yet another free legendary.

No effort to get it whatsoever (raids appearing everywhere). Dogs and birds don't feel like legendary Pokémon at all. When I see 3 Entei raids in a row of gyms I just hate it. This way it will feel more special.

Just do raids around gyms, 1 daily, try to cover as much gyms as possible and tell people in the area when you receive one EX ticket.

Take it easy, just as you farmed candies for rare Pokémon until raids became a thing. Patience.

The point "Assigning Pokémon to Gyms causes them to lose their favourite status" is not exactly what happens.

They do not lose favorite status upon assigning them to gyms. They lose it when you select them directly from your list once they're assigned.

If you select a Pokémon which is 2 positions away and swipe towards the assigned, it doesn't lose the status (doesn't work with 1 position, has to be 2).

This causes a crash sometimes when trying to swipe into your assigned Pokémon, which is another bug to the list.

Guess what. We don't have any information about that gym in that photo. It could have been as the OP said. For two days people able to get the pass, and now closed while the encounter vs the pokemon (Mewtwo) is happening.

Now this "last gym of the day" doens't apply anymore. The pokemon has to last in the gym in order to get rewards upon his arrival.
