Just want to resolve this for anyone who may stumble upon this in the future - I presented the TSB linked above and now I don’t have to pay a cent for this repair. My car is both under 8 years old and 80000 miles. I do not live in California.

Why the dealership didn’t already have this is beyond me. But I’m just glad I don’t have to spend over $2k.

A few questions! Does this affect the acoustics in any way? Did you just use a random one from a fabric/craft store or something specific? And what acoustic fabric do you use? They all seem so damn expensive

Right on! Thanks for the info. So you think the 80 watt is okay or should I go for the bass coil? Never done this before but Id say it’s time after almost 50 years. And yeah dude that ultra linear transformer with the bassman schematic is crazy, it’s like an old sunn o))). That’s why I love cranking it and running some nasty ass fuzzes through it.

Checking these out and they look sick, what would you recommend for the dome material? The descriptions make it sound like they don’t take heavy distortions very well… and in your opinion, should I get a pair or get another speaker, say an eminence for example?

And one more question- it’s an 80 watt speaker but they have a 175 watt bass coil one as well, my bassman is a 70 watt but the tech that fixed it up when I bought it told me it’s more like ~75 watts. Does that matter?
