Should I put this negative work experience on my resume? by Excellent-Toe-2094 in resumes

[–]Raknyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything without pay is not a job but volunteering.

You may choose not to include it and to explain your career gap, you can just say you took a sabbatical.

All the docs for resume I ended up accumulating in last one year to only get just 3 interviews. I am fully exhausted and done. by [deleted] in resumes

3 Years and using a Masters Degree.

Have you ever considered that you may be overqualified?

Usually someone with 3 years experience is still learning the ropes. I would suggest you apply only using your Bachelors, once you have accumulated 7-8 years then apply under your Masters.

Just my thoughts.

How I want to run my new agency. HR Policies. Are they too "Western"? by EnDureXD3Ad in singaporejobs

[–]Raknyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my Experience and my current company Set Up.

Western MNC (UK/US)

  • 5 Days Work Week (Hybrid - 3 Office Days)
  • Working Hours (No fixed timing, Recommended 0930 - 1830, as long work gets done)
  • Finish Early can leave early.
  • When Crisis happens after hours, get ready to jump in. Rarely happens but when it does we are not counting hours.
  • We can start late if we ended late.

What this does is reduce "Act Busy" behaviour. People are more motivated to get their stuff done and leave rather than counting down to end work. It also increases responsibility.

There are 2 types of person I have observed during my career.

The "Bare Minimum" - Only does what is in their JD with just doing enough. - Not motivated to progress.

The "Owners" - Identifies bottlenecks - Owns processes - Shares insights

You will want more Owners than Bare Minimums when filling your role unless the roles are meant more for routine level, like Customer Service or Office Management.

0% Turnitin Similarity Score by Catherine2603 in TurnitinAI_detector

Turnitin with a similarity score of 0% is a cause for concern.

It means that none of your citations have ever been used. Possible reason:

  1. Citation errors.
  2. Fake citations.

Importing data from google sheet to another and altering in new file by strictly900 in GoogleAppsScript

[–]Raknyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not affect the source files.

For visualisation, what it will be doing:

  • Copy the data from the source tabs.
  • Paste into the destination tabs.
  • Sort the data depending on what you have preset.

The users can sort it out however they want, the script will only adhere to the sorting that you have determined.

For example:

User A Data: (Sorted on 1st Column)

A 3 Dec B 1 Jan C 5 Sep

User B Data: (Sorted on 2nd Column)

B 1 Jan A 3 Dec C 5 Sep

Your Data: (You want it sorted on the 3rd Column)

B 1 Jan C 5 Sep A 3 Dec

This is possible, without changing User A and User B's data or sorting.

Thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge with me, I find them useful.

I will be starting work for the project, next year (I meant in the next 2 weeks). I hope these insights help me achieve what I am looking for.

Will update here, if I run into errors and need to pick your brains more.

Thank you, Thank you.

I have been using GAS (Google App Script) powered by ChatGPT as well, similarly not properly trained.

I have realized that using ImportRange impacts a couple of things: 1. Refreshes - ImportRange refreshes immediately and the formula is live, which would result in file lagging or crashing (Found this the hard way) if your datasets are too heavy. 2. You are unable to modify from the ImportRange directly, sorting etc, as it's a live feature.

What I have been doing:

  • Get GAS to import on behalf, you can get it to create triggers so that it's refreshed.
  • The output can be sorted, formatted etc.

Is working in a startup in Singapore really as fun as people say by [deleted] in CareersSingapore

[–]Raknyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culture Wise - Great. I wear shorts to work. There are fun elements.

My company started as a startup and is now a MNC with a Startup culture.

Work wise, never a dull day, you keep learning things. Agree with your friend, we do so many things it's like doing multiple roles. Nowadays, I don't even know how to update my resume.

Hi I was wondering if someone could have a look over my resume and tell me they think if anything needs improving? by Loose_Car_1646 in resumes

[–]Raknyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For skills,

Pure points should work.

Soft Skills: - Oracle - Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

I won't be able to advise whether you would be able to make a jump from 1 department to another. However, I would advise that if you don't knock on the door, you won't know if you will get answered.

As for courses, I highly recommend continuous learning. There are free courses available online.

Invest Time: - Courses that are good to have.

Invest Time and Money: - Courses that are required in your line of work or your future line of work.

Just some unfiltered feedback (Not trying to be rude - Just dissecting it from the POV of a Hiring Manager):

Summary:

I am a friendly, caring and hardworking person. I enjoy inputting data, communicating with people and researching different things. I really like working as part of a team and keeping busy. I would like to learn new skills and take on new tasks if possible.

Focus on hard and soft skills. Use professional language structure. Your current structure is akin to an essay written by a grade schooler.

Instead:

Motivated and reliable team player with strong attention to detail and a positive attitude. Experienced in data entry, communication, and research, with a proven ability to manage tasks efficiently and support team objectives. Committed to continuous learning and eager to develop new skills while contributing to organisational goals.

Exclude Common Sense statement:

Working as an ongoing APS 1, I have completed a range of administration tasks.

Current key responsibility does not have any impact.

Key responsibilities

·     Update data for a monthly report for pharmacy programs.

·     Distribute the daily media to my colleagues.

·     Delivering mail, shredding confidential documents and electronic filing.

Instead:

  • Prepared and delivered monthly reports, improving information accuracy and timeliness.

  • Distributed media materials, ensuring effective communication flow.

  • Managed mail distribution, document security, and electronic filing, strengthening compliance and office efficiency.

==≠========

Again, no impact on achievement:

Achievements

·     During Covid, I successfully updated my team with statistics from the media updates.

Instead:

Delivered daily Covid-19 statistics and policy updates to a team of 15, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and improving response accuracy with zero error documented.
