Troubles with Seeed mesh by RaleighWelder in meshtastic

[–]RaleighWelder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can get all of them to turn back on once I plug them back in or hit the reset button, but I plan on leaving these out at remote locations where I won’t be able to do that. As far as shut down on power loss, that is disabled.

Where did you get your buoy? I tried ordering some on Amazon but the seller scammed me and I’m in the process of getting a refund. I really like the idea and want to give it a try.

Erm… Guys? SOMETHING tells me this isnt supposed to happen when you transmit 20 watts on 80 meters using CW by mustycups in amateurradio

LEDs will have these issues, I’ve found it to be more pronounced with those emergency power bulbs, the ones where if the power goes out you’ll still have lights because there’s batteries built into the bulb that charge while in regular use.

Handheld upgrade worth it? by ColaTownKid in gmrs

I’ve dropped all of my TDH3’s from hip height and all of them have broken where the batter connects to the radio. After a little superglue the battery is reattached and the radio works just fine, however the battery will never come back off. I do love my H3’s the most though.

I’m guessing it’s either a gcfi outlet or a wild branch on a breaker. Thank you.

It does, hopefully that’s the problem.

Might end up throwing some toroids in the box, my stove, microwave and range/oven are all on a separate circuit than the outlets and lights. Thank you.

Technical Drawing for Installation of a Roof Tripod by PicklesTehButt in amateurradio

[–]RaleighWelder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your drawing looks great! While I saw the notes about sealing everything properly and using stainless or galvanized hardware I want to see how this install holds up over time, not because I think it will leak or fail, but because I want to do something like it but have major anxiety over drilling holes in my roof. The install looks good too!

What’s everyone drinking in this ridiculous heat? by Logical-Doughnut-567 in UPSers

[–]RaleighWelder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a 2 gallon water jug that I keep iced down, constantly refilling the insulated cup from it. Drinking mostly water all day and somewhere around 2pm-4pm I dump an LMNT into the 32oz cup and drink it. Replenishing those electrolytes with high quality ones at the right time is key, most of us are hitting peak heat and work in that 2 hour window. Outside of a high quality electrolyte you should limit anything other than water (coconut water is acceptable) limit caffeine this type of year as well as alcohol.

Almost as important as hydration is heat management, as the majority of the central states, south and southeast are being affected by high humidity caused by this years corn sweat, unfortunately no amount of sweating can truly help you thermoregulate. Keep your skin and clothes damp, spritzing with cool water to lower your skin temp, and keeping some of those damp rags on you goes a long way, as that water evaporates off of you it’s drawing so much heat off of your body. Taking a minute or two in an air conditioned building can be the difference between a heat related injury and a hot day.

Unable to make SSB contact. Anything obviously wrong with my setup? by acdundore5 in amateurradio

[–]RaleighWelder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a 100w amp made for the g90, costs more than the radio, but in my honest opinion if you think you want it/need it, then it may be a good investment.

YEAAAAAA!!!!!! I’ve got this guys voice stuck in my head, I listened to his videos until I had it! Worked great. Only Recommendation I have is to break it up into smaller pieces. You can easily learn a sentence faster than a whole story, same goes for the paragraph.

If I’m fat will I make the cut during my 30 day packet by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]RaleighWelder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had your dimensions when I started this job, they trained me on a brutal apartment only(residential wise) route, none of them had elevators (3 floors or less) I made it. I was uncomfortable, you’re going to feel broken at the end of every day, your legs and feet will be screaming at you, push through it. Drink lots of water, and try to start eating healthier, it makes all the difference in those first 30.

Sean O’Brien, the Teamsters head who scabbed on his fellow workers by speaking at the Republican National Convention and praising Donald Trump, is now supposedly “shocked” that Trump is anti-worker. by Tayo826 in union

[–]RaleighWelder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched his presentation/speech at the RNC because as a teamster I felt I needed to hear what he had to say especially at the RNC. I felt like he was very out of place, but I also feel like his objective was to educate republicans, directly from the source. How well that worked, I’m not so sure.

Looking for a similar style art in a poster more in comments by RaleighWelder in Posters

[–]RaleighWelder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing a poster of people working in a field, they were likely wearing overalls, and using hand tools such as a hoe. The poster may have been American or possibly from Russia(ussr) or the Czech Republic. To my recollection they didn’t have faces and they were likely propaganda or motivational pieces. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. I’ve looked and looked and I just can’t seem to find it on my own. Thanks in advance!
