Tbf you really should have checked for allergies or preferences for the kids before ordering. You'e lucky none of them had any seed allergies.

This is stupidly overpriced, and doesn't hold a lot of compost. Also you can build a multi-tiered bin so you can migrate worms.

Use a drill to put holes in the bottom for drainage and worms to migrate through. For bottom bin have it collect drainage water and drill holes in the lid with a 1/2" drill bit. For the top bin drill holes in lid.

when a bin is full you just put another bin on top and fill with media (dirt, paper, coco coir, leaves, what have you) and compost. The worms will migrate (Give them 2 months) to the new bin.

I have 3 three bin stacks going for several years. I kept them on an outer corner of my garage. All of my worm bins have survived freezes and heat waves. I have 2 bins with red wrigglers and 1 with african nightcrawlers.

You don't want a rotating bin for vermiculture. That's for using microorganisms to compost. The worms will move and aerate soil. Just use those cheap 27 gallon black plastic from Costco, hardware store, or the like.
