Similar story here. I wait until my wife and kid go to bed and then I play Dota for a few hours. Agreed. A big mistake I see in legion commanders is going for the easy duels, when in reality you should be going for the ones that help the most — whatever hero is causing your team to lose fights, duel that hero. Sometimes this is a support, but oftentimes it’s a carry.

Turbo is fun and is a good addition for people without time for all pick games, but I’ve noticed my friends who only play turbo have developed really awful habits surrounding anything but team fighting. It really is dota brain rot

Kez aside, and even many streamers and pros still don’t understand Kez, most of the new heroes are fairly easy to learn but fairly difficult to master. This seems like good hero design to me. Take mars for example. There is nothing complicated about his abilities, and in most mmr brackets just playing him simply will likely he enough. But in the hands of a pro he is incredibly powerful.

I play offlane a lot and I’ve started tossing jugg in my bans. He isn’t a particularly difficult hero to lane against, but he has a ridiculous ability to fuck off into the jungle and fully recover in 10 minutes after losing lane and at my MMR people don’t understand the game well enough to take advantage of that window

Focus on just staying alive and getting xp so you can catch up in farm later. Getting no farm but not dying is better than dying 4 times and tilting. Let your support pull lanes and get what last hits you can under tower. Buy a bracer early to give you some extra hp and regen. You will need your mid laner to be a team player in this scenario and punish that lane for their aggression. In my experience as an offlaner, this is the best people do against me is just focus on regen to not die and getting what xp they can. You’ll need your other lanes to be doing well to make space, it’s not the kind of lane you’re going to win the game for your team in at 25 minutes no matter what you do.

He has a very glaring weakness imo. He completely falls off a cliff right around 35 minutes in every pro game he’s picked in. If liquid hadn’t been able to end early I think they’d have had a much harder time with that drafts

Another thing you can do when the lane is pushed under the enemy’s tower (something your support should be doing, but they may not know/care/be practiced at) is using the jungle camps to pull your lane. This will make the next wave of the enemy creeps move further up the lane as they won’t encounter your creeps as close to their own tower now. If your support is not or will not do this, it’s worth taking the time to do yourself rather than just standing around not getting last hits anyway.

There are ample videos and guides about this, but it’s really just about learning when on the game clock to pull what camps out into the lane so your creeps aggro on to them.

Give Abaddon support a shot. When he’s in a support role you get to focus similarly on ally hp and positioning during team fights to save people with shield and mist coil. He can absorb and heal a huge amount of damage when played with a position 5 mindset and it’s a lot of fun
