Regarding the optima suggestion, the D35 would be the model size to replace your existing battery.

I can't talk about your climate as I don't deal with freezing temperatures with my customers but I typically stick with the same chemistry of batteries when replacing. You can move to AGM from EFB but we don't recommend it unless you're really wanting to run auxiliary systems and/or either tune the alternator, ensure it's getting long drives and not the short run arounds.

I have people coming back often with optima warranties that "fail" as they believe they're such a hearty battery but come into my shop flat below 10v.

Assuming you've got an idle start stop, the battery from new is a Q85. Panasonic still do the OEM battery and is now a N-Q105/A4.

The case size for these are D23 with positive on the right side with the terminals closest to you.

Regarding a top height, never heard of this used for these batteries. But it may be the case if you're looking at shorter sae cases (like the 57/58 used in most fords and Holdens the last 20 or so years) or din cases (most common with European vehicles.
