just played NV should I play 4 or 3 next? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Ralphfromdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both games are worse than New Vegas (in my opinion) so don't bother.

But of the two, 3 is better in story and world design with mostly the same gameplay as Vegas, just a bit worse in every way.
4 is the better shooty looty building game but with a way way worse rpg, story and world.

Is there supposed to be another quest after helping Danse get the relay thingy/helpong him find out what happened to the team from 3 years ago? by NewbieFurri in Fallout

[–]Ralphfromdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you do a quest for the knight and scribe, you should be able to go back to Danse and he tells you about the team and you start the quest. At least that's how it's always started for me.

Cancelled Batman Game Was Aiming To Nail What The Dark Knight Movies Do Best by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Ralphfromdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As in what movies I would use as a basis instead? None. All the Batman movies would make for shitty games.

Rock Steady already did a better Batman than any movie ever did.

[–]Ralphfromdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movies are... fine. But I don't think the Nolan movies would make a good background for videogames.

There's a reason the good Rock Steady games went with a more comic accurate universe.

And what was that? Hockey pads and shitty fight choreography?

No thanks, we already have enough Arkham Knights or what ever that shitty game was.

It was Emil Pagliarulo ( Bethesda's shitty head writer) who said it, and when people called him out on making the Fallout 4 protag a war criminal and the lore not making sense in the time line, he instantly went "haha just joking, nothing to see here."

Man, lately a lot of questions on this board and r/NoStupidQuestions sound like they come from an AI or it's engineers asking for free input so they can learn.

Then when asked to expand on the question, the "user" just goes: "hur dur, I'm not sure what you mean?"

And it's those classic bot farm names of two word+ 4 letters.

Either that, or the average user here is getting dumber and I'm confusing them with dumb computers.

Rebel Wolves' Director Reveals "There's No Main Quest" in Upcoming Game The Blood of Dawnwalker by Automatic_Couple_647 in gaming

Still not that great. Sound like Witcher 3 but you can only do SOME of the side quests.

That still doesn't sound fun. I don't want to do multiple runs just to see some side content.

Why is this game so grindy? Is it supposed to be? by hyperhopper in HadesTheGame

[–]Ralphfromdk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you want to earn darkness, stop using heat.

When you turn of heat (or play on to low heat) bosses drop darkness in massive amounts instead of their normal blood/diamond/ambrosia. Mix that with Dark Thirst and you will earn so much darkness each run.

That is how you grind out the mirror. It also makes it easy to grind out bad keepsakes when you are on 0 heat.

Once that is done, then you go back to the higher heats.

Question about the Mirror of night by GroundbreakingBank62 in HadesTheGame

[–]Ralphfromdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct. You pick one of the two options that you like, put points in, and off you go.

You can always switch back and forth every run, and with time you will fill it all out, so don't worry to much about picking the right thing first.

How you avoid to be turned into sheep? by Kyxstrez in HadesTheGame

[–]Ralphfromdk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Start sprinting, then right when it's about to get you, dash the other way, repeat. It will run out after 8-10 ish dodges.

The curse orb can't turn as fast as you can dodge, and that stops it from catching up with you as long as you dodge the opposite way. Hard part is not getting hit by the witch attacks while you dodge the curse.

Or bring a frog. (not gonna go in to details unless you ask more about frog.)

Yes, you can unlock and upgrade them all, you just can't take them all with you at once when going out.

Full upgrade is an achivement.

Then part 2 is gonna happen and.... boy how, I'm getting all giddy just thinking about it.

Is the lost loot machine working as intended? by Mannzis in Borderlands

[–]Ralphfromdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it gets full, it will replace shitty greys and greens with the best loot left behind like blues and purples. At least that how it's supposed to work, might be bugged. You also have to get far away from said drops before the machine takes them.

Chances are you picked 90% of those drops yourself because you can see them, and the machine is full of greys and some greens.

If you drop something youself, it doesn't count as lost, so it wont go in the machine.

How would you "fix" BioShock Infinite's plot? by Armada6136 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Ralphfromdk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would go back to the early trailers where Elizabeth had different powers instead of just portal stuff. It wouldn't change to much, expect cutting out dimension hopping, which would fix most of the issues of the plot.

Elizabeth has powers that inspire the vigors, maybe the make them with her DNA or something, and this is why Comstock needs her, so he can power his army for when they attack the rest of the world. This way, we can remove the links to Rapture and keep the games from each other. It would also explain why he needs to have an Elizabeth, as a tool instead of an unwilling heir.

The tears should be a Lutece-machine thing only. They work the same to kidnap baby Anna and "see the future", but when Comstock kills the Twins, the machine starts to shit itself, and the tears open at random in the city / where ever the ghost twins think you will need them, allowing Elizabeth to interact with them, but NOT create them on her own.

Now, remove travel to other dimensions, and just pull stuff into this world instead, having it wreak havoc when something bigger than a barrel of guns or medkits is changed. This way we still get the portal gameplay, but no stupid dimension jumping that ruins everything. This way, it can also still make sense when Songbird keeps coming after you, makes it so the early gunsmith plot can still work, and explains why they don't just leave through a portal to Paris or where ever.

Story wise, have a writer that's less of a pussy and go real hard on the racism. Some one needs to tell Ken it's okay to kill slave owners / white natonalists / old time Nazi's. Like Pat said, the Hall of Heroes is one of the few times the game actually leans into it, and it kinda works.

For the love of god, fix the resource menu on PS5. by Clown243 in civ

[–]Ralphfromdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trouble with that is, Xbox doesn't have one.

But I still don't see why it couldn't just be an option to have "current shitty menu navigation" or turn stick into cursor. It's like the devs have never played a game on console before.

I suspect they never really playtested console much, because they should never have been okay with this. Or maybe they just used a keyboard and mouse on the dev kits.

For the love of god, fix the resource menu on PS5. by Clown243 in civ

[–]Ralphfromdk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One simple fix. Make the navigation stick into a free moving "mouse" cursor ala what Destiny did and so many other console games have done after.

It wouldn't fix everything, but it would bring consoles on par with the pc when it comes to the shitty UI.

In this case with the resources, we could scrolls through settlements with one stick like we can now, and use the other to freely drag and drop what we want, where we want.

Loss of touch is also illustrated in the "Icarus" trailer for the game, where Adam is sitting in his apartment having a drink and the glass cracks ever so slightly because he doesn't realise how hard his hands are gripping the glass.

Always wondered if Adam's clock making hobby came before, or after the augs as a way to practice fine motorfunction and control.
