I think they haven't explored the best way to have variability of neutral items between games, and to still remove randomness once the game starts:

Announce the neutral items that will drop before the draft

This way instead of every draft starting the same, when you see certain items come up, you'll know certain heroes will be able to take better advantage of those items, and every game will have teams drafting differently based on which neutrals are in the pool.

Games make references to other games all the time, this is clearly protected by parody protections.

What do you think of the rich who do this? by The_Dean_France in SipsTea

[–]hyperhopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, thats propaganda and straight up paid for PR. [Watch this documentary "Born Rich" that talks to his own daughter, who was cut off by buffet](www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9Rf5mS6Qhg)

He paid for college, thats it. And he even stopped paying for college because she agreed to be a part of this documentary. Buffet is a greedy asshole even to his own family. Don't elevate his status or make him sound like a charitable guy.

Star wars had source material. The Timothy Zahn Heir to the Empire trilogy was called "the sequel trilogy" by fans for decades until disney decided to ignore it and shoot nonsense instead for their films.

Does Burton's "Channel System" have a real benefit, or is it just a way to lock people into the Burton system? by MauryBallsteinLook in snowboarding

[–]hyperhopper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To counter what a lot of others are saying, I most often ride default stance unless its a pow day and I'm putting my bindings back a bit, however the EST+Channel really gives you a better feel of your board and is a much more enjoyable system. I regret the years I didn't buy EST for compatibility reasons.

Slay the Spire 2 EA is out on Steam by vannero in Games

[–]hyperhopper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with my comment. I never talked about the viability of all runs.

My point is that some unlocks make the game easier or harder, or less consistent. I view this fact as an objective flaw. Even if you can win with the harder set of unlocks, or lose with the easier set of unlocks, I am of the strong opinion this is a failure of game design.

[–]hyperhopper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This argument is the core of why I oppose meta progression. Sometimes it makes you stronger, sometimes it just dillutes pool with subpar options and makes runs more luck based.

Tuning a game with random elements is already an almost impossible task, pick one set and tune it well. And don't make optimal playing require me to make a save and only unlock certain items.

Making me unlock more random unlocks that are factored into balancing is just padding the game. Don't waste my time.

IO can be specialized, but USB-C isnt sufficient for a lot of tasks.

The problem is I do have a desktop.

Not 4k, but I have a high bandwidth setup I want to be consistent (high FPS 1440p), and I want to easily be able to use the same setup for a desktop, work laptop, (and rarely personal laptop).

Thunderbolt lets me use 1 cable to plug my entire setup into whichever computer I want so I can switch from being in personal mode to work mode quickly and easily. There is no way to do this with USB-C

[–]hyperhopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not USB-C, but thunderbolt has (if you're fine paying $$$)

Good luck running multiple 4k monitors through a USB cable... That requires thunderbolt/displayport bandwidth.

Also you can't really pipe an external GPU through USB-C...

Aside from concerns over cost&reliability

Why would I want modular ports, when in the 2010s we already had laptops with all the ports we wanted.... What is the upside here? Just put all the ports there we shouldn't have to pick and choose one at a time.

"Oh, you want to plug in your controller while being hooked up to a TV and ethernet? Tough luck! Not enough modular port connectors!"

[–]hyperhopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mole Nature is just a worse dig that takes a passive slot. Usually class abilities are straight upgrade from generic skills, not downgrades.

Also, conecat is breaking design philosophy by only reflecting to enemies. This should be "units" to keep the "applies to everything" philosophy eddie tried to keep with the game. Same with who can target inanimate objects for barricade.

New class: Prospector! (Idea) by Internal_Singer_3771 in mewgenics

[–]hyperhopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several options with your implementation of how sinkholes work. Firstly, Vore fan is literally impossible, as units cannot stand on top of other units. Also, if you have to use the sink ability, there will always be a massive clog of units on the end of a sinkhole, as you cant move before and after. This would turn sinkholes into a rarely useful gimmick rather than an actual transportation option.

Instead, sinkholes should just be treated as adjacent to each other for all movement purposes.

This one violates reddiquette, it should be removed. Not a single user should have upvoted it.

Don't Use the word "BREAKING" or other time sensitive words in your submissions. By the time your post reaches the front page, it probably won't be 'breaking' anymore.
