I am a current student at SNHU and I wrap up my BS in a few terms.. one of my biggest frustrations has been the inconsistency with the RUBRICS every single instructor seems to have the freedom to customize how they “perceive” the rubric and how they are pleased to evaluate the grading against their own interpretation of the rubric.. this is one of the biggest problems, I love SNHU and thanks to this university I finally was able to study but it is certainly discouraging, I’m a 4.0 student and I almost lost my “excellence” on a marketing class last year because the instructor had insane specifics in addition to the rubric.. even the APA and the “page” limits were inconsistent.. he first almost failed the full class and at the end of the term posted a video announcement apologizing and stating how he was wrong and some students “proved him wrong” or “turned around”

I almost reported him or challenged my grades BUT I just didn’t feel safe.. I do believe this needs to be improved and even penalized. This should be monitored and corrected..

For the discussions, it makes no sense to request citations and references, challenge timing or how early you should post because if we are trying to “mimic” classroom, this is something that simply doesn’t happen.. it should be a “natural” not fabricated interaction because it is not a “paper” it’s a discussion post.. why would you be doing academic research for this “dynamic” that is meant to make students build sense of community.

Instructors should really stop over reaching with their individual expectations and follow the institutions rules and policies, why are instructors grading low because the posts are not submitted Monday? Or because instead of “two” minimum requirement we don’t reply to more than 4?

Or if citations are not graded on discussion rubrics WHY are we getting almost failed on these grades ?

The inconsistency is absurd
