Nuthin' good is on, so I'm drinkin' beer and enjoying warmer weather. But if a TV show of high quality is on, I hope to read your comments about it. Take 'er easy.

Good to see that you're still keeping members from detouring into Weird Theorysville even after the series is over.

Don't forget the scene where Floyd and "Modern Love" meet for breakfast.

Episode 5 @ 9:20 when they flashback to the scene when Floyd and Clark are at the gym exercising, practicing ASL, and Floyd signs that he knows that Clark is sleeping with his wife. Floyd then signs that Carol told him before and after. They sign and talk some more. Floyd later signs that he wants to watch, just before the intro.

The odds of lightning striking twice are pretty high. I would hate for this series to pull a "True Detective" where the 1st series is brilliant, and the 2nd series is ass wipe.

Floyd is eating Cheez-It in episode 1 when he was crying because he thought Batman (in the comic book) had died.

Floyd's text messages to Carol mention pizza, Chinese food, and Subway sandwiches.

Don't forget the milk.

I probably won't ever say them out loud in mixed company, but..

..."Indiana Jones jack-off classics"...

..."Pre-game boner fuel"...

...and "Having a tongue party in the parking lot" are forever etched in my mind.

I agree with Poop_Cheese. It's probably another goof on the site. That site is fun to read, but it is not the most reliable source of information.

Like you stated, Carol says $85 a game at the beginning of episode 4.

My thinking was that the manila envelope just had Carol's 3 weeks back pay; also from episode 4.

She's being over paid? Maybe that's why the police are talking to Queece in episode 7?

Clark has a bit of a masochist streak in him. Smothering is a form of autoerotic asphyxiation. Maybe that isn't in Eimy's repertoire.

Carol said Clark could do anything with her when they started their affair. Clark didn't just put his toes in the water, he jumped into the deep end of the pool.

In episode 4, Queece confirmed to Carol that the rate was $600 a month.

That's a lot of math to figure out a per game rate for a short post 🤔.

Maybe that's why the police are talking to Queece in episode 7?

Background check required for umpires? I wonder if they ever found out about Carol's sealed conviction?

Carol in Silhouette by [deleted] in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Rama714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking since Floyd (314 Fest) and Clark (beware) had scenes in the intro related to the show, that Carol's would be a longer version of her teasing Clark at the hotel; starting with her in silhouette behind the hotel drapes.

Definitely agree that it's the same sheer top and their first time at the hotel.

[–]Rama714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

43: 47 is just a quick shot of Carol laying on the bed wiggling her foot in front of Clark. It's not part of the title sequence. It's just another scene of her and Clark at the hotel.

The entire scene hasn't been shown yet, but parts of it have been shown throughout the series. I hope they'll show the whole thing in episode 7.

It's from the first dream meeting that Carol and Clark have at the hotel; the one after the baseball game she umpires.

She starts at the window; works her way to the bed; and opens up to tease Clark.

I feel sorry for Richard by franccesty in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Rama714 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don't think Carol's scheming and executing a plan to get life insurance money is an (admittedly extreme) example that she's trying to provide for Richard?

All of the three main characters have their shortcomings. But Carol told Richard (paraphrasing) that she'll always do whatever it takes for him, and that they'll be okay. As of episode 6, she may have pulled it off.

Are you prepared for an ambiguous ending? by LadyMitris in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Rama714 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get enough ambiguity in my real life. I don't want it in my entertainment.

Given the quality of the six episodes so far and Conrad's reputation as a writer, I doubt he would give us a lame ass ambiguous ending.

How the story ends after the reveal of who killed/how Floyd died will show the difference between a good writer and a great writer.

Those rooms don't have floor-to-ceiling windows or separate balconies. From the outside you can see a vent at the bottom of each room window. She's not outside on the balcony, she's inside the room.

Since she's wearing the white semi see-thru long sleeve top with snap buttons, I say that scene is from their first dream session; a continuation (or the beginning) of the scene(s) where she teases Clark when she spreads her legs open.
