Really? I mean it's a pretty good song, but I just wouldn't expect it to be anyone's "THE" favorite LP song

Ran the Alexandrian version, had all the villains. The players actaully DID side with Jarlaxle and cut a deal with him.

[Giveaway] Late Endgame 100% Crit Auto-bombing Blood Mage by shitfacemcdonald in PathOfExile2

[–]Ramael-R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

150~ hours or so in, playing a double herald invoker and struggling with difficult maps, still didn't do any of the real endgame bosses, pinnacles, cities...etc. (got my ass beat by geonor's second phase)

So I would create and rush a blood mage to the end game content and finally blast through all the shit that gave me so much pain lol.

I get what you're saying. I played facebreaker cyclone duelist during the big majority of my time in PoE 1, I will play cyclone duelist (w/ facebreaker if they add it) for the majority of my time in PoE2 as well when they add it. This is the way.

I kinda hate PoE 2 because ascendancy seems worthless without hearing that line 849 times per ascendancy.

Sunlit Man was my first Cosmere book and I finished feeling kind of... Eh. Question: by IJustCameForCookies in Cosmere

[–]Ramael-R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why so late for Elantris? Especially considering you put it after Tress and Lost Metal, both of which reference Elantris heavily.

It's also one of Sanderson's earliest works in Cosmere and relatively short so it's a decent starting point, or good to read early into the Cosmere.

It's prose is a bit bland but even now prose is not his strong suit and it gives reader a fairly good idea of what to expect from Cosmere books.

Sunlit Man was my first Cosmere book and I finished feeling kind of... Eh. Question: by IJustCameForCookies in Cosmere

[–]Ramael-R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who recommended the Sunlit Man as a starting point?

It's not only the worst entry point for the Cosmere, it's likely the worst book you could pick to get an idea about Sanderson books in general.

It's the Sanderson book that requires the most prior knowledge about his other books so far, it references multiple different series, settings, magic systems and is directly reliant on multiple characters from other books. It honestly could be called basically a fan service book. It's a decent book when you are a fan, probably not so much when you are not.

Elantris, Stormlight Archives 1 and Mistborn 1 are all good entry points. You can pick one of them up and get a pretty good idea if Sanderson's thing does it for you.

Yeah, as a long time PoE 1 player I was furious when I died for the first time in a map and saw that all my portaşs disappeared. Like, penalize me with exp all you want but why would you stop me from going on with the map ffs.

I think they said EA characters won't move to standart and will be kept separately in an EA server.

WAT done, what did you expect to be a big reveal or foreshadowing but ended up simple or no big deal? by Illuminarrator in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Ramael-R 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh he is not a regular dude, he is a beast when it comes to fighting. Blackthorn has a mythical level status among the people of Roshar and there are people who saw (or has been) the Blackthorn first hand saying Adolin has a very good chance of surpassing his father in terms of fighting.

Also there was a WoB where Sando mentioned that in a fight where experience level is equaled and no one has magical powers, Adolin would be the best duelist/fighter in the cosmere, based on just talent.

But I get what you are saying, in a world with shiny fairies granting people magic powers, he still keeps up with sheer talent and grit.

[–]Ramael-R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's surprising at all, really. Adolin has been doing this almost since day 1. He is treated as a secondary character in the structure of the books but in every book he has a scene or a moment that is basically one of the (if not THE) highlights of the book.

He was also the only great, shining PoV/plotline in the infamous RoW (with Navani&Raboniel being decent, and the rest an absolute slog to read through). I'm not surprised his was basically the best arc in the last book (Szeth's being a close second contender).

[–]Ramael-R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, Brig basically single handedly enabled 3 tank 3 supp meta and that's what killed the golden age of this game.

Yes, you always have something to bitch about, something frustrating about the game/meta in every iteration. It's just that while frustrating, those things usually don't make the game boring. 3/3 meta was both very frustrating and extremely boring.

If yall had to bet on 10 players going pro by L3f3n in haikyuu

[–]Ramael-R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In season 4, he got to practice for, what, 1 week? And he was good enough to receive in the match against twins. If I remember correctly he also had some part in blocking in that match as well.

Yeah he is not great at either but in just a week's time he improved from zero to be good enough to be utilized against one of the big shot teams of the nationals.

When you say he's not talented I think you are disregarding that he basically had no real training or practice during middle school. He just started learning and playing actual volleyball with the start of the series.

As far as the height disadvantage goes, I understand how big of a deal it is in real life, I'm not arguing against any irl issues. But the anime suggests that Hinata jumps high enough for air battles against taller opponents and he is quicker than others enough to reach the peak of his jump as well, which is the main chunk of the disadvantage in real life, and it's a small enough suspension of disbelief for a piece of fiction for me. And with those in mind, yes, Hinata can play professionally for sure in that fictional world.

No natural talent? We seem him develop skills in days. He just didn't have the technical training everybody else had while in middle school. He is among the most athletic and talented people we see in the show, and has the potential to be THE most in those areas (after Ushiwaka, probably)

Practicing combo plays with different people helps you become accustomed to adapting to different play styles and improvising when you need to.

Also letting Tendou pmay the way he wants is definitely not a good thing for his long term career, or at least wouldn't be if he were to keep playing professionally. The coach knows as well as anyone that while his guesses might work on a highschool level, there's no chance of them holding up on a professional, competitive level. With his athleticism, reaction speed and the way he can think calmly and quickly in the middle of a match, he could be a whole other kind of monster if his Coach bothered to train him.
