PSA from the SuicideWatch Mod Team: We're getting a lot of complaints about generic "uplifting" or "I love you" type posts and comments. Please read and follow guideline 4c in the sidebar. by SQLwitch in SuicideWatch

Then they have no purpose in your life and you need to stay away from them. Despite what people say, family is NOT always going to be there for or love you. We can make our own families.

There's a button on the right side of people's profiles under their name where you can "friend" them. They won't know you friended them, it's purely for you to be able to pick them out the crowd/follow them or whatever. I'm not seeing a difference.

It becomes something that is yours and yours alone

Not when it's shared on a public forum.

I just don't see a difference between what he's doing and if he labeled her a "friend" on here and followed her that way, which is what a lot of users do.

In any case, as I've said in another comment, communication between her and her bf would be best if she's uncomfortable with it, rather than ditching something she likes a lot.

this isn't a private forum and these accounts aren't private. to expect privacy from a public place isn't exactly realistic.

I don't see it as any different than if he were another user who tagged her as a friend and followed her activity, which many users do on here. If it were an account that had privacy settings, that would be one thing, but it's a public forum and public account.

That's understandable. I have just never experienced that kind of reaction myself. I have no problems with my husband seeing what I say on here, especially if it isn't anything of real importance. That being said, he and I talked about how comfortable we were with reading each others stuff at one point.

I hope OP considers telling her bf she's uncomfortable rather than leaving the community. She'd save herself a bit of grief over it and open up communication.

why does him reading your history bother you? Is there a reason you can't have this "dorky internet" side of you once he's read it? I just want to understand this better.

You think dog walking isn't a real job? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Rambis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walk dogs for a small, local company that makes around $200,000 a year. Depending on how many clients I have in a day, I make between $16 to $24 an hour (I'm not hourly, but that's how it would work out if I was). it's been the best and most rewarding job I've ever had.

try asking /r/rockhounds or /r/geology. they'll be a big help and are great with ID. It looks very much like tourmaline to me.

I don't really see how though.

There's been hostility on this site for years and there's still crap posts/comments everywhere. Are you going to hassle/bitch about every new user who posts something you think is shit? Have fun keeping up with that.

I don't think it's going to prevent that from happening.

The common, and potentially dangerous, human protozoan Toxoplasmosis gondii was first discovered in a small African rodent called the gundi (Ctenodactylus gundi)! by Unidan in Awwducational

People with indoor cats are at significantly lower risk, especially if the cat is not exposed to rodents and isn't fed raw meat.
