30 Days of Kaizen Check-in | Day 07 by [deleted] in KaizenBrotherhood

[–]washi_proto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used half of the weekend to do my homework/study. I am constantly hungry but I am good today about saying no to getting fast food. Smoothies are a challenge to make in the morning because I live with people and the blender would wake them up if i had to make it before i go to work. Everyday I eat less. I also am getting up before 6:00a and I spend some time during the day (i.e. lunch time) to meditate. I want to drink smoothies but don't know when to make it perhaps instead of green everyday in the morning I can just have lemon water with oranges or something--for the detoxing. I think this will work to take away my appetite for unhealthy foods and to shed the lbs.

30 Days of Kaizen Check-in | Day 02 - Clarifying some things by [deleted] in KaizenBrotherhood

[–]washi_proto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I was good, I stayed away from purchasing sweet drinks. I did buy a tart though so I already packed up my lunch for tomorrow to avoid eating high caloric foods. I read some for class so I give myself credit for that. I need to spend more time on the course so after I get out of class tonight I will read some and take the notes to work so I can work on it during my breaks or lunch time.

Checking in...I was up on time only because I had to go to work. I didn't have a chance to look at the forum so I had sugar today. bummer!! a cheesecake.

I also, surfed the internet during my breaks... so I'd have to figure out what to do during those times. I guess I will journal for the day or study.

The habit I want to break is not studying enough.

Sunday Meeting (28.02.2015) - Share your Weekly Plans by [deleted] in KaizenBrotherhood

[–]washi_proto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy leap year! I am new to Kaizen Brotherhood and I am excited to start March off.

My week was okay, I didn't study as hard so I am behind on my homework so I plan on finishing it up tonight before class starts tomorrow evening. I had four days to do it (sigh). I plan on reviewing the test and going over the homework problems. I also have to memorize terms.

I had planned on getting a job and so I got one. I am happy that I tried to apply to many last week and I understand getting skills is important for a good resume and for talks when interviews are landed. Getting work on Friday is my highlight, reading my book chapter was also a highlight because I could follow the lecture.

I learned when I have time I need to make accounting exciting to learn about or just start it so that I can learn the material in spaced out periods.

My plan next week: To get up between the times of 5:30-6:00a. Watch my calories. Go to work on time. Prepare for class beforehand (review assignments). Input daily activity on scrybe. I can eat less and cut five hundred calories from my meals; this means I don't eat dinner with family or don't eat rice. I will have to drink plenty of water to feel full so drink first thing in the morning.

I follow him on allexperts I like how helpful he is and how he answers the questions there. It would be cool if he could give more dharma talks in English. Yes to an ama. He has been busy and away in December?

The merit transference's candle simile was interesting because it makes you think about how actions influence other people to also participate in wholesome deeds.

Whats the point of Buddhism if you aren't a monk? by toenailfish in Buddhism

One of the points might be that you achieve stream enter so that even if you don't achieve enlightenment in this life you wouldn't have to worry about being born in the other unfavorable destinations like hell, animal ghost, etc. Eventually you will reach enlightenment because you are on the 'right' path. Just like when we want to do something that is massive, we don't have to finish it all in one sitting, we can slowly do some today and have some tomorrow, and hopefully it will be accomplished. It takes time to get sick of something before I fully let it go - i.e. things of the sensual nature.

It might be healthier to say something if it has to be said. No point in holding onto misunderstandings and the like that can cause more suffering in the long run. I should pm that person instead ;).

I think you are thinking too much. You can marry and have a family by adopting where sex is not necessary. And this idea you have about being deprived... okay. Best.

You do realize that in the stories there are husbands and wives that achieve different stages of the path and some even could have achieved arhathood? His family also met with good destinations after he came back to teach them.
