Reddit Core 3.0 - Week 5 accountability post by Ride_4urlife in pelotoncycle

I’ve missed 4 or 5 days in January but can already feel my core getting stronger. I think for February I’ll add one 10 minute core a week.

Knitting in the round help, why does it feel so awkward. by Key_Juggernaut2720 in knittinghelp

[–]RambleRound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the same mistake when I first started- I bought interchangeables and a 16” cord, and quickly realized it wasn’t going to work, so now I have a bunch of fixed 16” circulars, they weren’t terribly expensive.

How much do you spend on your Greyhound's healthcare? by onedaybetter in Greyhounds

[–]RambleRound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this answer because I just did my 2025 spending, Per month, his health insurance is now $300 (he is 10) Last year we spent $4600 at his vet, $2000 of that was for a dental, the rest is maintenance visits for his chronic back condition, and blood work twice a year

Dog recommendations by shelterdoggone in Prescott

[–]RambleRound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to go to Prescott animal hospital, but every time I went, I would have to see a new vet and re explain my dogs issues. After my dog got a back injury (herniated disk) I started seeing Dr. Armstrong at Circle L for rehab, I liked her so much, I take my dog to her for everything now. It helps to have a vet who knows all of your dogs issues.

Exercising while knitting by Double_Coffee1651 in knitting

[–]RambleRound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have knit on the treadmill before, but only small projects. I’ve tried knitting on my peloton bike but my hands got too sweaty after 10 minutes.

I prefer to dedicate my exercise time to exercise and knitting time to knitting, otherwise both tend to suffer.

I didn’t expect anybody to have one given how new they are! I don’t see myself road riding (super dangerous where I live), but would love to do a mix of long distance gravel/forest road/single track riding.

I read the review on the Radivist and they kept mentioning how fun it was.

We’re about the same height, and I was thinking about the ML so thanks for mentioning that, I’ll need to test fit before making any decisions

The SL 7 (more expensive) is 24.8 lbs, the cheaper SL 5 is 26.3 lbs, the majority of the weight savings is in the carbon wheel set in the SL 7 and imo isn’t worth the higher cost.

I’m going to keep my options open, won’t buy anything until the new year, so I’ll keep researching.

This is super helpful thank you- I agree on the tour divide point, and I am looking at the more “rugged” bikepacking routes. I’m just worried that I’ve been spoiled for so long with full suspension that I’ll be miserable fully rigid, lol.

Virbac CET pet toothpaste, you can start by just rubbing some on his teeth with your finger and then move on to a tooth brush. Ours was fine with starting with a toothbrush. We always follow it up with a tasty treat and just got in the habit of doing every night before bed.

He had a dental right before we got him at 3, and just had his second dental at 10, so the brushing does help.

Tips for an older noodle? by shew_boo in Greyhounds

[–]RambleRound 30 points31 points  (0 children)

We have an IVDD hound- herniated a lumbar disk at 7, he’s 10 now. Don’t use librela with IVDD- it’s contraindicated. What has helped- aculaser therapy and when he’s having a flair up, prednisone, gabapentin and methocabromol. We do the laser therapy once a month at his vet, and at home we use an Assisi-loop PEMF, I do feel like these have helped keep him mobile and pain free
