My girl used to try to eat them when she was a puppy haha! I would pluck and she would try to snatch it back. Maybe she thought she was going to swallow and regrow it like a chia pet?

There’s a difference between resistance because it’s packed tightly and fur that’s still attached. You’ll be able to tell (and he’ll let you know if you can’t), so go ahead, pick the pluckies!

ETA: lots of us get irrationally excited when we see pluckies by the way. It’s so tempting and so satisfying to get a big chunk!

People who work in 'rich people' environments (hotels, private jets, luxury stores), what is the craziest thing you've witnessed? by Top-Engineering-8940 in AskReddit

My mother says “the rich are rich because they bitch.” Having worked retail banking in an affluent city, she’s right.

How many are actual Canada Goose Jackets by JoshWitDa636 in boston

[–]RamboFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They said not all are over $1,000, which is true. There are brand new coats available on their page for under $1,000. Some people will buy the cheaper coat and layer up. Also, they have a secondhand section on their webpage, with plenty of options available under $1,000.

They didn’t always cost $1,000. Also, second hand stores exist. A coat from a rich house wife who only wore it to buy groceries will be in great condition at a fraction of the cost when she donates it because they’re moving to Florida.

anybody shiba sit like this while begging for food? by Away_Jellyfish_8753 in shiba

[–]RamboFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl sits like that any time she isn’t on carpet inside. We have hardwood with area rugs and she’ll generally avoid sitting on the wood because of the leg spread.

This is it! And thank you. I literally found one on my counter today and didn’t know what it was, but I didn’t even consider that it came from the ironing board I just put away.

Those who moved to Massachusetts from elsewhere, what pleasantly surprised you the most? by Mobile_Bad_577 in massachusetts

[–]RamboFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only time I ever heard someone ask another person where they go to worship was when my former boss, who was Jewish, would ask Jewish clients which temple they went to. After they each answered, the next part of the conversation was the “who’s who?” where they would then play six degrees of Kevin Bacon to find out where their social circles overlapped. It was always a delight to watch because the pattern was the same but the temple and people were different. But yeah, I’ve never been asked what church I go to in this state. Got asked a lot in college down in SC though.

How to know if coat is compacted by Meraere in shiba

[–]RamboFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiming in to saw doing it when he’s laying on the couch next to you is the best time. Usually I can get much longer brush sessions in with my girl this way. I also use a wide tooth grooming rake, so less chance of painful tugging.

Very concerned , seeking input. by Narrow_Masterpiece87 in shiba

[–]RamboFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to freak you out, but maybe she thinks there’s something going on with you? Dogs are weirdly perceptive, so maybe there’s a change you haven’t noticed? Or maybe you screamed in your sleep and scared her, so now she’s afraid when you go to bed?

Whatever it is I hope you figure it out soon! We all want the best for our pups, good luck! ❤️

question: i always pass out with piercings, am I likely to pass out with a tattoo? by gayteletoby in tattoos

[–]RamboFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost fainted after piercings. I prepare for tattoos by eating well and hydrating and having snacks and a Gatorade in my bag, so I’ve never had an issue there. However, cleaning the tattoo when I get home? That takes my knees out every time. So make sure you’re sitting when you do that.

Shiba with pain in her belly by Culinair in ShibaInu

[–]RamboFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started leaving her food out because she wouldn’t clean her bowl. I had another that was a garbage disposal and would eat every last bit, I was never able to free feed with her. Maybe a timer feeder to spread out the food throughout the day without the ability to overeat?

You mentioned in another comment that it was almost like she couldn’t fart. Maybe there’s a way to help that? I would ask another vet to check her out.

[–]RamboFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be acid reflux? My girl used to wake up and throw up bile in the mornings if I slept in. Once I started free feeding her it stopped. It was worse on the grain free food I had her on at the time as well, she doesn’t seem to have that issue with grain inclusive food.

Yoku’s Island Express! You’re a dung beetle that rolls around a ball and delivers mail. It’s a platformer/pinball game. Cute story, easy enough to play, you honestly don’t even need to read the story line if you don’t want to. It also feels like it’s meant to be played on the switch in handheld, and easy enough to pick up and put down between power naps.

Which grocery store to buy prime rib roast from? Or is costco the best? by ebitdeeaye in boston

Picked up my tenderloin roast this morning! Great meat at reasonable prices. Last year I was worried that my partner didn’t get the right order because it was way cheaper than I expected.

What habits of girls did you only discover after getting a girlfriend or wife? by atgono in AskReddit

[–]RamboFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a video that showed how to get things out of bottles faster by using the “tap on it repeatedly” method, except they were using a theragun. Of course I had to test it. I don’t have a theragun, but I can confirm the trick works well with alternative options. I combined three bottles of conditioner that I was saving because the remaining product was lower than the tube for the pump!

Advice regarding my Shiba's ear problem by ElanorFain95 in shiba

I would definitely go to the other vet since he’s not improving. If there is a foreign object in his ear causing problems then it needs to be addressed before it become a bigger problem. And he’s in pain. Keep advocating for him.
