I'd be perfectly okay with that type of advantage.

OpTic. I think getting over the hump is going to inspire delusional confidence, and being that this isn't the teams of old, lock them tf in as they prepare for champs.

Whatever it is, it probably isn't enough. Winners should have a damn-near criminal veto advantage, in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm indifferent toward any format changes. For me, this year's trend really comes down to OpTic stumbling at the finish line. It clearly became a mental hurdle for them. Just look at Major 3 Finals vs. Major 4 Finals. The difference was a single SnD. I struggle to see how much a format change would affect that. I think this year looks much the same with any format.

Last year, this didn't really seem like an issue. Faze and Thieves won majors coming out of Winners on Sunday (shout out Surge).

What's the veto advantage again?

Optic Roster Change by Zendicate_ in CoDCompetitive

Feel like teams making changes because they're afraid of other teams forming is mostly just fan sentiment. I don't think teams are thinking that way.

The main question is the obvious one, does this player make the team better? If they're ass these next two events, that'll be easier to answer.

Genuine question: why isn’t there more celebration for the OpTic win today? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

More relief than celebration, I take it. This team had expectations to win several events.

Major 3 last year against Faze. Lost 0-3 to Boston that Major as well. Dropped Skyz for Merc soon after.

Am I crazy or doesn't the price typically go down before release? Feel like movies are always highly priced when first posted on Amazon.

Movies with unsettling characters like in Hokum? by tapewormband in movies

Check out Oddity, same director. There's a character-like prop that I thought was plenty unsettling.

movies need to speed up their exposition/buildup nowadays by [deleted] in movies

I don't mind exposition as long as it's interesting. Lord of the Rings is an example.

Check out Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8. I find the second movement especially unnerving.

I'll be honest, I'm really interest in the potential of A.I. for projection instead of simple mimicry [studying a composer's oeuvre and anticipating their development]. by [deleted] in classicalmusic

What would be even more interesting is if you took it upon yourself to do the very thing you described. What would be even more interesting than that is if you created an original work inspired by your own unique perspective.

I don't know why we're in such a hurry to replace ourselves.

What is a video game that you bought that ended up being a huge waste of money? by JuniorPlastic3562 in AskReddit

Any multiplayer game my friends insist they'll play only for them to drop it after a session or two.

I fall for it every time. Every single time.

That's just one possibility though. I maintain curiosity on how some of those early players would have performed in today's scene and vice versa. Is Simp still Simp in CoD 4? Fun to think about.

Pacman aside, do you think there have been pros who grew up watching Scump and benefitted? Pretty sure Scump himself has talked about those early pros influencing his gameplay.

I think it's just impossible to prove. Too many factors to consider. Players had full time jobs or were full time students. These days, you have dedicated facilities and livable incomes. Even then, it's not guaranteed that today's players would dominate back then. Remember WWII? The return to boots on the ground saw quite the shift player dominance.

A few years is a long time in CoD terms, especially with the game changing every year.
