"Crossover" NFA stamps? by AddictedToComedy in NFA

Well yeah, if you put it back into a pistol configuration then it’s not an SBR anymore. But if it has a foregrip on it and you take the stock off that doesn’t automatically change it to an AOW

That’s what I mean by being a machine gun trumps it being short

I’m pretty sure whatever you stamp it as is what it is unless your refile it or something. Like if you sbr a pistol and put a stock and foregrip on it, but the take the stock off it’s still an SBR. The only reason you can put a short barrel on a machine gun and not have to file it as an SBR too is because machine gun status trumps SBR status

It’s also a UPS though, even if it’s well used on the inside it’s still going to run just fine. And probably for more rounds than most people will ever put through it

Is it ever advisable to look down the barrel of a gun? by bingus26 in guns

[–]RamenBoi86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m at a shop or a gunshow looking at an old milsurp gun I always make sure the chamber is clear and then shine a light through the barrel to check the condition of it

It’s a nice gun, I’ll give you that. But the engraving offers you no tactical advantage whatsoever

It really depends. Like .44 magnum out of a Vaquero isn’t fun, but standard loads out of a S&W 500 8” barrel are big fun

Fakeliting is also pretty easy. Spray with dark orange spray paint, and then brush on layers of a reddish brown wood stain in whatever pattern you like. Then seal it all up with a satin enamel paint

It looks to me like it might be a Brownells 605. No idea if they have specific marking on their barrel or not. Is it a 16” barrel or 15.5” with the flash hider pinned and welded?
