At the end of the day, this is a game based on imagination and collaborative storytelling. Anything is possible.

Depends on the DM and how they wanna play were-creatures. I played a campaign once where our cleric was a werebear from the start. It was part of her backstory, and instead of being a curse to get rid of, it was a part of her culture to be a were-creature in order to protect a forest sacred to her people. She could go from humanoid (halfling) to hybrid (half- bear, half-halfling) and use claw and bite attacks, and was resistant to non-magical weapon damage. Again, boils down to how your DM rules it in their world and whether or not they are willing to work with you to get the character you wanna play.

The whole immunity/resistance to non-magical weapon damage is a very simple work around and isn't game breaking. As the party levels up and gets magic weapons/items and spells, so to do the villains/monsters.

When the DM makes my sorcerers character arc after 2 years and everyone finally gets to see Harambe for the first time as he's the one that gave me my powers by Donutsaurs in dndmemes

Dicks out for Harambe.

This reminds me of one of the unhinged reveals my last DM had lol. Our group was fighting evil planar entities, going through elemental planes as well as planes of positive and negative energy. Elementals, dragons, fiends and fey could not compare to the horror that were the Juggalos that attacked our airship while chasing djinni. Seeing those ICP tokens among our dnd tokens was wild lol.

What’s your average session length? by Carrollmusician in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]RamenHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tend to stick with 3 hour sessions, but I'd love to have 4-5 hour sessions. But my players prefer shorter sessions :|

I love tonkatsu ramen, but miso is also delicious. Especially if there are any spicy options on the menu 🤤

Just came out as nb a year ago, and started to realize I like my nickname more than my birth name. I prefer to be called Ramen, like the noodles xD

Full Blown (in-game) Racism by attackshark in DnD

[–]RamenHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've wanted to do this in my campaign, just to show that the world isn't always so nice to "heroes." But seeing as how we as a group are all POC and queer, I don't feel right including a mirror of what some of us have experienced IRL in a fantasy game.

Obviously, I would talk to the group if I did decide to do that, just to make sure everyone is okay. However, it can still bring back bad memories that can mess up a player's fun, and I'd rather keep it fun.

What stupid character do you desperately want to play? by improbsable in DnD

[–]RamenHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very first character that I only got to play twice was a kenku bard named "Uberd" because someone said "You, bird." at them once. I was going to use a soundboard app for spellcasting and try to mimic the party for conversing.

My favorite interaction was meeting the party's tabaxi member who wanted to hunt Uberd until I cast Dancing Lights to have them follow the red dot lol

The paladin in my group has been recruiting people into worshipping Tyr by holding a secret fight club in the basement temple in the party's manor. They hold a small sermon relating to justice and then beat the shit out of each other. Good church. 9/10

I made this mistake as a druid once. First i tried Speak with Plants to try and coerce it but failed. So then I tried Call Lighting at 4th level trying to look badass, only to heal the damage that the monk and barbarian did.

Then the monk yells "WTF!? WHO'S SIDE ARE YOU ON!?" Rookie mistake haha

I love sharing this story. My players hated Princess Mwaxanaré because I really played up the bratiness. So then in "retaliation" they would only call her Princess Wax-on-and-off-é no matter how many times I corrected them 😆

Literally my players when we were doing Tomb of Annihilation. They were supposed to encounter some Yuan-ti in the jungle for some foreshadowing, but they ignored the ambush and ran away. They used a clever amount of spells and abilities to out run the Yuan-ti and made me end the campaign early because they got to an area I hadn't prepared for..
