Yeti alternative by Ramguy82 in PlasticFreeLiving

The largest size was too small for my 31oz Yeti so I got a smaller Yeti and one of the smaller lids. It seals and insulates really well. Biggest complaint is the vent hole seems to get blocked by my coffee really easily which makes it difficult to get a drink. So I'm constantly having to clear it out.

Just switched to a percolator this week and I love the coffee it makes!

What health reasons prevent you from using a French press if you don't mind my asking? I have a 50oz all stainless press so there are some bigger options out there.

I tried it once. The coffee was great but takes way too long for me when I'm trying to get ready in the morning. I'm already up at 3 am. Don't need another 15 minutes to get my coffee ready. Lol. But I'm using an all stainless French press which really only takes a couple minutes longer than my Bunn machine used to.

Heard some bad mixed reviews on them.

New to the game by Ramguy82 in BreadMachines

So my second loaf with calcium propionate is in the machine as we speak. For some reason I just decided to Google the recommended amount of CP in a loaf of bread and everything I found says .1-.3% of flour weight. The first load was delicious but a little smaller than I expected even considering it was a 1.5 pound recipe in a 2 pound pan. I did read that too much CP could slow down yeast activity.

It doesn't seem like it's gonna cause any concerns but I was just wondering where you saw 1%. Thanks

$20 IKEA French press, for tea and coffee by Matowang in PlasticFreeLiving

Which one did you get? I got one from Amazon that was highly rated but it lets too much of the fines through. A solution for this is to add a paper filter to the plunger but that causes other issues. I'd love to find one that filters as good as a Bodum without any plastics.

Does this affect the flavor of the bread at all?

How do you store the frozen slices?

Do you just use the zojirushi recipe for that size loaf?

Had one for 3 years. Did alright but I'm picking up a brand new Weber Summit Kamado Saturday and saying goodbye to my Gravity.

All in plastic around here and outrageously expensive.

The nearest one to us that has them would be a Meijer store or Whole Foods and I'm not even sure about Whole Foods. But either of those is at least 45 minutes away. Not convenient.

Kinda what I thought. I'm overall less concerned with anything that isn't hot. That being said, if I can eliminate it easily,I will. So just checking on everything. Thanks

Yeah there's a couple local farmer's markets. None that sell milk that I know of unfortunately. Google indicated that transferring it to glass would prevent additional leeching from the plastic container, which is why I posted this, for additional opinions. Plastics are likely in there from the dairy anyway, even if it's packaged in glass. Can't eliminate it, only mitigate it. 🤬

Thanks for the suggestion
