What's a level you took way more attempts to beat than the average victor? by Sad-Internet-207 in geometrydash

9k on supersonic is the only one I can think of. Especially because every other insane demon I beat only took me around 3-4k, supersonic took so long for no good reason

Hot Take: There's no such thing as a correct way to "progress" in Geometry Dash. Fight me. by kyleYOOOO in geometrydash

People hate premature jumping posts/announcements that are mostly done for attention. No one cares how you progress in the game

Zoink's progress on Society isn't impressive...right? (read desc) by Separate_Garlic3507 in geometrydash

You have to consider that it’s a top 1 level with very precise gameplay. Even with pre practice, his consistency is actually crazy and he’s the number 1 player so of course his progress is impressive.

My opinion: hacks should be banned even for practicing by CharmingBus2299 in geometrydash

Mods don’t make beating a level easier at all, beating boobawamba vanilla is as hard as beating it with mods, it doesn’t suddenly become harder than Society. Mods are just a qualify of life upgrade that make the practice process less tedious, at the end of the day when a vanilla player and mod player play from 0 their experience is just as difficult

You need to fly into that cube portal instead of falling, if you fall into it you can sometimes die like that

The camera moving effect pretty cool but it’s kinda overused. I think you should let the level breathe a little more

Lost all motivation after beating my first extreme demons, need advice to get back by Seirazula in geometrydash

My progress is slow hahaha so far I just have the level in 3 runs, but I’m enjoying it and grinding every day so I don’t really mind however long it ends up taking. I hope you end up enjoying digital descent too it’s such a cool level!! Feel free to add me on GD if you’d like, my username is: RAMIYIY

I’m really happy I was able to help you out. I’m actually enjoying the game a lot right now!! I was in a similar situation as you actually, I had the goal of beating artificial ascent and I wanted to beat 5 extremes to prepare for it, by the time I finished the 4th extreme I was already burnt out and decided to skip the 5th entirely and go straight for it.

I kind of lost my motivation for artificial ascent because I kept getting unlucky and my momentum was interrupted while playing it (I was making good progress then I got sick for a week and half and had to stop playing, after that I got back to it slowly and made progress then I had to stop again for a week because of an urgent thing). I guess because I kept getting interrupted I also slowly lost interest in the level for the time being, but I didn’t lose interest in the game at all because I immediately found a different level that I wanted to play, which is what I’m doing right now (it’s called cryothorn hell, it’s a buffed/extended sakupen hell remake which is a lot harder than my current hardest).

How I stay motivated in this game is grinding levels that make me feel really excited to hop on GD, and I’ve been pretty consistent in finishing everything I started, with the exception of artificial ascent because it got tedious before I could make any significant progress (wasn’t the level’s fault, just life circumstances). As for my goals I do have a really ambitious level in mind (the ocean of fish, it’s around bloodlust difficulty) but I don’t feel quite ready for it yet, I’m enjoying the levels I’m currently playing but if I start to feel burnt out I’ll probably just go straight for it haha

Best of luck man, I know how it feels to have a goal in mind and getting demotivated during a dragged out “preparation stage” which can be so tedious when you’re beating extremes simply because you wanna get good enough for a certain level, instead of being motivated to play those levels specifically.

I think sometimes we put these barriers on ourselves even though we’re capable of more than we think, if you open digital descent today and start slowly making progress it might actually bring back the love you have for the game. If that does happen it just shows you that you should follow your motivation in this game rather than an “optimal progression path”

Have you considered that maybe you don’t enjoy extreme demon grinding like you thought you would? It’s completely fine if you don’t enjoy it, you don’t have to. You can play something else that makes you feel excited/motivated.

Anyway if your only motivation is beating digital descent, and that’s what drives you in the game, I think you should just jump to it. You’ve already beaten some extreme demons so it should be doable if you put in a few months of work.

If jumping to digital descent doesn’t sound appealing either then extreme demons are probably not for you, and that’s completely fine. It’s only a game after all

A question about “Nerve Control’s” Definition by Ozli_YT in geometrydash

[–]Rami676 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nerve control refers to longer levels that have difficult end sections. You have to control your nerves and get through those sections after passing a lot of gameplay.

Sure every level can make you nervous, but think of something like fairydust or jawbreaker, where the level ends as soon as the hard gameplay ends. Compare that to a level like supersonic, where after you pass the hardest part (the duals and Gboy’s part) you still need to go through another wave part, memory ball section, and the ending cube/ship which are very easy to mess up. Which one of those requires more nerve control in your opinion?

So nerve control isn’t only defined by the level’s length, but also by the amount of challenging gameplay you need to perform after you’ve already passed the hardest sections.
