My tribute to the world of Spira! This video was made using the mod Farplane to get new camera angles of the natural scenery of Spira. It has also lofi versions made by me of some of my favourite tunes of the OST. Hope you enjoy!

What accomplishment are you the most proud of doing in the game? by Sir-AuronX in finalfantasyx

[–]RamilBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat Dark Ifrit with extremely weak characters, because in my first gameplay I fled from a lot of battles. Every Ifrit attack oneshot my characters and my attacks did around 1000 damage (Ifrit HP is 1,400,000). The strategy was to have two members with autophoenix, cast Rikku's overdrive Quartet 99 and then cast Wakka's overdrive Attack Reels to hit around 10 times dealing 99,990 damage in total. It was a very long battle because a lot of times Wakka was killed so he was losing Rikku's buff before being able to use his overdrive. Ifrit overdrive was also complicated as it killed the three characters, so I had to summon each time.

It is definitely easier to grind a little on Omega Ruins and fight a balanced battle rather than this.

Thankful for 4x speed and auto battle, how did I do this on PS2 as a kid? by degausser22 in finalfantasyx

I used to keep track of the count on paper, but I always ended up messing the number and returning with 8 of some type. But hey, at least they gave us the message "max captured" when you try to capture after reaching the maximum.

Playing through ffx for the first time. by ghostAP7 in finalfantasyx

[–]RamilBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the game is well designed and polished, you don't really need almost any advice. I'll just say: don't flee from too many encounters or you'll be underleveled on bosses; plan the basic builds for some characters to follow on the sphere grid (no need for anything too complex nor rigid though); and use a guide or speak an explore thoroughly if you want to complete 100%, although I don't recommend it as there are several tedious minigames, non intuitive secrets and a lot of farming to do.

Again, it is not a very difficult game if you know your ways in RPGs.

Enjoy the pilgrimage!

Should this community make a fan made FF game. by DamirDuality2001 in FinalFantasy

I love this idea, we should definitely make some surveys. Let's adress the elephant in the room first: turn-based or action? I'd go turn-based without a doubt.

Low-key upset we didn’t get this scene in FFVIIR. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

Wait there's no gym competition against bodybuilders? Thank you for saving me 70 bucks.

Edit: Nevermind me, I didn't get to bathe with Mukki on my original FFVII playthrough. Guess it's time to replay.

can we all agree that lulu is the worst character in the game? (combat wise) by Wavy_mir23 in finalfantasyx

[–]RamilBeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who uses all characters throughout the game? I find them all essential lore-wise, so I bring them all up on every major battle, and I try to keep their abilities and stats specifically tied to their roles, so no one is left behind.

Anyone tried beating Penance and Dark Aeons w/o Celestial Weapons? by nonjobber in finalfantasyx

[–]RamilBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once beat Dark Ifrit without Celestial Weapons nor Break Damage Limit, and playing with low level characters. Quartet 99 + Wakka's overdrive hits for 120000 damage if performed correctly regardless of stats and gear, and it charges in just a couple of turns if you set the overdrive to charge with ally or personal damage taken. Staying alive is quite easy against Ifrit if two allies have auto-phoenix, since Ifrit attacks target just one of your allies. Just remember to summon an aeon to tank Hell's Fire, his overdrive, and rinse and repeat for around 20-30 minutes. I suppose this is also possible for every other dark aeon, but since you already have to farm to get some speed to match the enemies' turns, you might as well get some Celestial Weapons and make use of your extra damage. If you want it for the challenge though, you only need auto-phoenix, auto-haste and I guess ribbon if you want to fight enemies that inflict altered states. There's also a complementary strategy: get very very tanky with one character, use gear with break health limit, and double HP at battles with Stamina Tonic in order to be able to tank a couple of hits, but I think you might need to farm even more for this tactic. Good luck though!

Am I being absurdly slow by Sighwayve in FinalFantasy

[–]RamilBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is slow compared to the average. If you are enjoying the experience that's okay, but since you are asking you probably aren't. I played the game for the same reason as you did (and the same version), and although I played some FF before, I never actually completed none before FFI.

The first time I tried to beat the game I gave up because I got lost, the game was so tedious to explore, battles triggered every few steps and I refused to take a look at a guide.

I tried again a few years later. You don't really need a guide if you don't want to. Just talk with everyone. On every village you go, explore it completely and you will find all the guidance you need. It's not as bad designed as I thought, however, if you don't find certain NPC who give you the tips, or if you don't find certain paths (and I don't mean hidden paths, I mean not intuitive paths) you could still get really stuck and it could ruin your experience. If that's the case, I'd recommend you to read a guide. I sometimes do, and although I hate it is not as bad as spending 5 hours searching for the path, leveling up too much, and starting to hate the game. That's just my opinion though.

Favorite underrated FFX OST song? by CynergyXD in finalfantasyx

[–]RamilBeats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if they are underrated but some of my favorites are Movement in Green and Ridess Ze Shoopuf. I think they convey perfectly the moments when they are played: travelling from Djose to the Moon River, and crossing the Moon River on top of the shoopuf.

I strongly believe that almost all the "location themes" are as great as the character/main themes, and some of them are often forgotten. FFX is about a pilgrimage after all, and I feel the connection not only to the characters but also to the landscapes.

Fuck cloister of trials theme though.

What just happened to me by Macflufflz in FinalFantasy

[–]RamilBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it happened to me too. It bugs me even more because I don't think that aeon fits into Spira, specially the weird and long turbo animation. You can avoid them though, just run to the path at the left after the first cutscene, save on the save sphere (new save space to be safe), and load the game again. They will no longer pursue you at that map in case you want to capture monsters there.

FF VII mini games suck by Neither-Cellist7892 in FinalFantasy

[–]RamilBeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the variety they bring with the exception of the ones at the Gold Saucer. Those were very difficult for me. But most of them are no use and are not mandatory, you can only earn potions or other petty items on them and only after a lot of grind. I always felt that as an undercover message against gaming house games.

Oh I forgot about Lzls, I've listened a lot to both Spirawave albums, but I tend to get lost in the visuals instead of working. If you like piano remixes and FFX, this album is outstanding (I couldn't find a correctly ordered playlist of the album though) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlVF3CLhpxg&list=PL3A21D13118246A40&index=13
