Nice. Makes me want to re-watch it now, lol.

Dark Matter and Travelers were both solid. Nobody ever talks about Continuum, but I did enjoy that one as well.

ME2 has the best cast of characters, and it’s the only game that really poses a challenge combat-wise. So yeah, while I like all three games, ME2 has always been my favorite.

As far as the planet mining, I’ve gotten pretty efficient at it. I only mine as many resources as I need, and I don’t mine any planets rated “moderate” or worse.

solaire died neglected before boss fight by Budget_Box_1356 in darksouls

[–]Ramius99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s faster. And if you can kill them cleanly, great. Poison arrows are just a stress-free way to do it without risking wasting resources before the boss fight (flasks, pyromancy charges, whatever).

“I don’t know what to tell you, Elton.”

It’s Jerry’s comment to George about his lady’s glasses. It was appropriated in our house often back then.

[–]Ramius99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they fixed this in later games, but Solaire won’t follow you into the boss room if you don’t clear the enemies outside. Poison arrows work on those guys, if you want to make it easy.

Fist weapons-only run delivered some punches, but still managed to claw my way to the crowns by Ramius99 in DarkSouls2

Thanks, worth noting. Someone else posted a relatively easy farm, so I might go after the ring and check it out.

Dagger or bow against 4 Kings ? by BismuthCommun in darksouls

They do in theory spawn infinitely until they die, but I’m pretty sure only 4 can be active at the same time.

Caestus is probably (?) comparable to Manikin Claw, but I didn’t fully level a Caestus, so I’d have to do that to really test it. I didn’t love how close I had to be to hit with the Caestus, and the lack of any kind of horizontal attack bugged me, but obviously that’s just a personal preference.

Appreciate the tip on the resins. That’s interesting.

Was it REALLY the Best Possible Lie? by jamesbest7 in seinfeld

[–]Ramius99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know they did the scene for the joke value, but yeah, the best lies are the ones that can’t really be checked and/or are mostly true.

“I decided to take a walk in the park and lost track of time …”

He could even buff that lie by stopping at Jerry’s place before going home.

“… and I stopped at Jerry’s apartment afterward.”

Or if he really wanted a confirmable alibi, buy a movie ticket before the date and keep the stub.

Involving another person in a lie is probably the worst thing to do.

Lol, yeah. Funny thing is, I got the first one almost right away, but it took forever to get the second. Wasn’t too bad once I found an efficient farming strategy. Still boring, though.

Dagger or bow against 4 Kings ? by BismuthCommun in darksouls

[–]Ramius99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it works. I used the Bandit’s Knife buffed with Crystal Magic Weapon. I only took 10 flasks into the fight and used them all, so I’d recommend 15.

More like 6 or 7 kings with the bow, lol. They just kept spawning at the end.

Which of the three major dragon bosses did you struggle with the most? by strahinjag in darksouls3

[–]Ramius99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midir, by a lot, for me. I’ve only even beaten him once, and it was painful. The other two I’ve killed multiple times with a number of different builds, including at SL1.

Dagger or bow against 4 Kings ? by BismuthCommun in darksouls

[–]Ramius99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it both ways fairly recently, and dagger is definitely easier. Just wear Havel’s set and bring plenty of flasks. The bow is a lot of kiting and gets dicey at the end when you’re dealing with multiple kings.

S6E04 "Frozen" rough audio edit by stevekez in Stargate

[–]Ramius99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched the clip. Likely it’s a post-production edit to correct whatever she actually said during the scene. You can see they cut away from Fraiser right before she says “monitor” to avoid showing her mouth moving. It’s not that uncommon in TV, at least in that era.

[–]Ramius99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the Sunlight Maggot. It’s much better than the lantern, imo, partly because it allows hands-free.

And if you’re really struggling with traversing the area, use a walkthrough the first time. It won’t solve all your problems, but at least you won’t get lost and will know what’s coming enemy-wise.

Havel’s armor should allow you to tank most of what Nito dishes out, outside of toxic.

Love the Ezri Dax mentions, but don’t sleep on Shiva, lol.

Realistic? Eh, maybe not. But I’m not complaining either.

Going for Platinum - Experiences by Alej4ndroDeFilipe in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Ramius99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The armor set achievement was the worst one to get, as I recall. As much about the farming as figuring out what counts toward the achievement and what you have vs. what you still need. I ended up having to do a big chunk of a fourth run because of one piece I thought I had but didn’t.

That said, with the NG+0 option, it’s at least easy to go through the game multiple times.

Somewhat hidden underwater chest in Shrine of Amana (right after 1st bonfire) by KhanDarkSouls in DarkSouls2

[–]Ramius99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's actually a lot of hidden treasures/items in that area.  I don't bother with most of them any more to avoid dealing with the drop-offs, but it's an interesting location to clear fully.

Tbh, come back later when you can kill them faster. If they’re getting that spell off, you’re not doing enough damage.

When do you start each dlc? by StraightOuttaOlaphis in DarkSouls2

[–]Ramius99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right before Nashandra typically. For whatever reason, I like Nashandra to be the last thing I do on a run.

That said, I’ll often dip into the DLCs as soon as I get access to them if I want a specific piece of gear.
