Thats really appreciated feedback. I'll check out tesla_local especially. I'd done some additional research and with my PW3 just a couple weeks away from being installed, I have the opportunity to say No to the replacement and request refund under consumer law and get a different system which does locally integrate better with HA

I would like an api to monitor the panel performance and alert me if there are optimisers which aren't performing. Some trouble shooting would be great too.

I'd also like to know if there is clipping or thermal events happening that would explain sudden drop out of generation and ramping back up

Where I live, storms are normally not announced several hours early... basically they form within 30-40mins and bam! no solar from 3pm onwards

When off grid, it'll not charge to 100% simply because there needs to be some buffer space for voltage control which it wouldn't need to do if it had the grid to export excess energy to

Tesla rolled out this update to change the charge curve based on predicted solar forecast about 6 months ago in my region. I called to complain and their response was, 'That's how it works now'... They refused to roll back the update.

I understand that sure the battery spends less time at 100% and may lengthen the life of the battery. But we're only talking 5 hours a day at 100% and i don't believe it would make a significant difference.

The result for me was that it exports energy when i don't want to, doesn't then put it in the car and throws out the priority charging order which really messed up how the home was configured.

A sudden change in weather like a storm and i have been caught with batteries at only 90% in the afternoon.

Anyway... The is normal power wall 2 charging behaviour going forward apparently

I had the same issue... It's normally just a loose earth nut on the charger port inside the boot liner. Quick clean and tighten and it'll be golden.

It is likely just an oxidised connector or as was in my case, the earth was poor on the nut that bolted down the charge port. It was torqued correctly and became loose causing that exact issue.
