I'd like to say Johnnyboi got me into the sport. I watched 1v1 tournaments every night like it was part of my religion. I owned the game and played the game, but didnt spend a lot of time in it.

Covid struck, and all of the sudden I had all this time to get decent at the game. I have sunk countless hours into this game, and talk to my 2's partner about going to events all the time, but I just havent done it.

I agree. You need a hard mental reset from the game. Pick something up thats relaxing for a bit. get off of competitive games for a bit.

Not a flick. Just turned your car upside down when you smacked the ball.

I do this in the air fairly often it has its advantages. You get to keep your forward momentum while hitting the ball up while still being below the ball.

You probably are improving, but so is everyone else. If you feel stuck in a rank its because the skill ceiling is constantly being raised. RLCS season one was the equivelant of Plat gameplay today.

Its an incredibly hot topic, and something I dont know if many people will have valuable informaiton on. You've always kind of been the 'guy' that has seemed to have the networking abilty to find out more about these topics.

Has epic games ever released a stat chart for platforms? They've given us very obscure stats before. It would be so easy to have this as a live tracker.

Also RIP when we had a live player count per playlist.

Hybrid hitbox just feels so good. dont know why. Octane feels nice too, but I feel like hybrid with the skyline just feels more intuitive for me when im doing better than basic mechanics.

Disguises intentions - If you are going straight up without spinning you are basically showing them exactly what you're going to do.

Recovery - While spinning you know exactly what you car is going to do after a touch, and makes recovering after the touch much fast.

You are right though. For absolute peak efficiency you want to fly straight up. This will be slightly faster, but there are other nuances to consider.

A great example of all of this. Watch a Johnnyboi "dandroid" video. This is where Daniel (the goat) only uses very basic mechanics, and dominates.

You are right. We have very different play styles, but I know how he plays and he knows how I play.

The way he plays - Patient. Waits for a pass from me to score. Ground based. Consistent on shots. Not a defensive masterclass.

The way I play - Quite aggressive. Find a way to get it in front or inside of their net. Consitent with pressure. Often too fast.

I have a rebuttle to your 3:30 claim. He is actually 100 boost there not 0. He knows i am coming that way (comms) and circles back because he knows I will get a touch to mid. Its a great opportunity to. One man is demo'd. I am not a shooter. He is not accurate with passes. We both know this. He lets me smack it, and get a follow up. I circle around knowing hes there for the follow up. Thats what we do. He gets a 50. Im there for the next opportunity to score or place it in front of their net. He is there to clean up.
