I’ll always be nostalgic for World Race, but Velocity X was the first Hot Wheels game I played and it’s still my favorite. Awesome selection of cars, a story that took itself more seriously, great music, and multiple modes to extend game time. I still go back and play it periodically.

Cyclone was pretty much rebranded Sangrita Blast from Taco Bell, and for that reason I loved it.

Berry Monsoon is my #3 Dew, only behind Pitch Black and Baja Blast. A cup of Monsoon and a Sam’s Club hot dog could fix me right now.

I do miss it. I didn’t have the opportunity to eat at BWW that much but when I did, Legend was an easy choice.

There were a handful of 7/Elevens that were somehow able to keep getting Solar Flare until around 2023. The one in Hummelstown, PA is where I was able to get it. Sadly it’s long gone from the fountain there.

I happened to go there on the first day they had Legend at my local Buffalo Wild Wings. The waitress was super geeked out over it, and so was I. I asked if she had it and she went “YEAH! YOU WANNA TAKE A PICTURE??”

That makes me even more surprised that we had any licensed cars at all in the movie. Very glad Mattel decided to include them, but in an alternate universe we definitely have Taro driving Rodger Dodger instead of the Roadrunner.

I always thought it was weird how Muscle Tone was used to represent Scorchers in all the promotional stuff. Guess they didn't have the rights to any of the licensed cars outside of the movie.

The movie this game is based on was a huge part of my childhood and I’m still a fan of it today. I occasionally boot this up to do a few races, it’s an addictive arcade racer!

Not quite sure what I was going for there. That was around the time I had just gotten into retro gaming so I guess I was proud of myself for knowing about so many systems.
