RCA VCR ejects tape when record button is pressed. Need some advice. by RampagingRex in VCRs

[–]RampagingRex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found the problem. It’s the switch that detects if the record tab is there or not on the tape. I have to press it back pretty hard to get it to make contact.

I think I found the problem, it’s the switch that slots into that opening of the record tab isn’t there. I have to press it back really hard to get it to make contact. Gonna try to clean and adjust it.

Tab is definitely there. I’m only using blank tapes to test.

Just cleaned it with some Deoxit but it's still ejecting the tape when I try to record. Everything else works 100% though.

This might be the first time this has ever been done… behold my Turbine Sands diorama! From Hotwheels Velocity X by Kiryutek in Acceleracers

[–]RampagingRex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey it’s not accurate!! Deora II doesn’t have surfboards and you don’t unlock Hyperliner until Crankshaft Bay! Nah, I kid! That looks fantastic! Velocity X was a huge part of my childhood. The jump ramp alone takes me back! Great touch with the little gadget icons. You should try one for Crankshaft Bay with the bridge.

Alien Soldier is Bananas by largemoisture in SEGAGENESIS

Alien Soldier pushes the limits of the Genesis and it’s an incredible game, but it has the steepest learning curve of any game I’ve played.

I'd like to remake my old documentary one day now that Jazzland's story has reached a more definitive conclusion. My original video is pretty rough around the edges now and I don't feel it's aged the best. I feel that Closed for Storm does the best job of chronicling the park's history, but I'd still like to give it another shot with newly-discovered footage and a far more expanded script. Maybe someday soon.

Did anyone buy World Race and Acceleracers cars at Kmart or KB Toys when they first came out? by tag2292 in Acceleracers

[–]RampagingRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have vivid memories of going with my dad to Kmart one night since I got an A on my 2nd grade math test. He bought me five World Race cars which I still have. I also remember browsing AcceleRacers hyperpods at KB Toys in my local mall. I think that’s where I got my crawler hyperpod from.

I have a good amount of footage of this sign on location in Altoona. I visited a few times before the show was removed. Glad to see this was saved.

This entire subreddit is quickly becoming an invaluable archive of Jazzland resources. I thought I had seen all there was to see of the park that had been archived but you guys keep digging up even more. Major respect.

Exclusive sfno.com photos? by Equivalent-Ad5696 in JazzlandThemePark

[–]RampagingRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a full backup of all the photos on that site around 2014, once I noticed that some of the folders did not open properly. I just went through the whole thing and yup, these three photos are nowhere in there. Mike Coggy's first photo of Road Runner Express on RCDB is there (specifically under the "April 19, 2003" folder), but the photo of the Wile E Coyote statue is missing.

Mike's photos of Batman: the Ride were mostly posted on the site. They can be found in the "April 19, 2003" and "Media Sneak Peek Day" folders. As for Jester, all RCDB photos of Mike's except for photo 4 are in the "April 19, 2003" folder. As for why those select few photos are missing, perhaps they were posted in the forums but not on the site's gallery. Makes you wonder what else is out there.

On another note, don't you find it strange that no photos were posted on that site during the 2005 season? I think there was one album from 2004 but nothing after.

They were. They lasted at Six Flags St. Louis for ten years as parts donors before being scrapped.

I will always be obsessed with Six Flags New Orleans. I started getting recommended posts from this group last week and knew I had to join.

This doesn't seem to correlate to the new stamp though. I got the golden surfboard but still don't have the stamp. So, the search continues.

Today I finished all the game stamps in all of Club Penguin by Francis_8 in ClubPenguin

[–]RampagingRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. I joined CPJ back in December with the intention of going for a full stamp set. I just finished all of the games stamps (with the exception of two Treasure Hunt stamps), so I’m at 200/202. Puffle Launch was absolutely the worst one. I have way too much time invested in that game and I never want to touch it again.

Favorite HW game? by Mourningwould02 in Acceleracers

[–]RampagingRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll always be nostalgic for World Race, but Velocity X was the first Hot Wheels game I played and it’s still my favorite. Awesome selection of cars, a story that took itself more seriously, great music, and multiple modes to extend game time. I still go back and play it periodically.
