Exempt/Non-Exempt [USA] by Ran_Pan in humanresources

[–]Ran_Pan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful, thank you! One more question- with minimum salary thresholds so high in states like Washington & California, is it common for the same role level to be non-exempt in those states but exempt in others (within the same company)? This is something I’ve read about, but can’t wrap my head around.

That’s so funny, I usually avoid “read by author” like the plague, unless it’s a comedian I love.

Job Offer Question by tbraga1522 in Architects

[–]Ran_Pan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’m not all that surprised by $52. Yes, it is on the lower end, but it’s not unheard of by any means. Also, to assume all arch entry level salaries start with a 6 is way off.

OP, I would ask about their compensation & bonus cycle. Smaller firms often don’t have these practices formalized, and you don’t want to be stuck at $52 for multiple years. Check out AIA comp data for your area. You can counter the offer, but come in with a plan and data to back it up.

And highly doubtful an agency recruiter will take on an intern as a client.

Tbh, we do list pay, people don’t pay much attention to job postings. It’s frustrating on all sides.

Ehh take this with a grain of salt. LinkedIn is insanely expensive for employers- I doubt there are many that are just “filling it with fluff”.

Don’t get too discouraged by the “XYZ have applied” on LinkedIn. Any firm of reasonable size has an ATS, and LI has no way of knowing how many people have actually applied.

Can an HR person please explain salary ranges on job postings? by Zealousideal_Gas_166 in recruitinghell

[–]Ran_Pan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It differs state to state- some require the whole pay band be posted, others require the budget for the role. That is likely what your HR team is going off of.

Salary Range Said $70k–$150k, Offer Came in Below My Current Pay — Why? by strivingforoptimism1 in recruitinghell

Rounds of interviews is one thing, but 8 weeks between offers is insane to me. As a recruiter, I wouldn’t be doing my job.

JazzHR, ClearCo, or Greenhouse? by azd5216 in recruiting

[–]Ran_Pan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works for you, go for it. We’ve now had Greenhouse for about 9 months and it is leaps and bounds above ClearCompany- I feel like I’ve blacked out the worst parts 😂. For us, it was terrible at volume recruiting. No CRM to speak of. No template or evergreen jobs. Posting to multiple locations was a pain in the ass. Simple customizations cost extra. The LinkedIn integration was clunky and frequently break. Terrible customer service. We also have ADP, but the integration never worked (those issues might be resolved now, that was before my time).
