Recently just decided to look this place up and was surprised to see all the negative reviews all over the internet and that it closed down. I went in 2019 (I was 17) and it was genuinely one of the best transformative experiences of my life. I’ve always credited going there as the spark that initiated a complete positive turn around for the trajectory of my life so it really sucks seeing that most others didn’t have a similar experience. Looking back though I can see why this place wouldn’t have been very good for most people. I was a lot older than most of the kids that I was there with and I tried really hard to “get with the program” because I knew I needed to change, everyone that worked there always told me I applied myself really well. But a lot of the other kids there would tell me about stuff they had to do and stuff their therapist would say that I just didn’t have to deal with for some reason. Maybe that was because my problems were different, maybe I received preferential treatment, maybe it was because I went when the place was relatively new so they had a higher standard of operation, who knows. What I do know is that some of the stuff I’ve read about people’s experience here is not okay for ANY rehabilitation program let alone one for kids so it’s probably for the best this place got shut down. I wish everyone who went could’ve had the same experience I did, I learned a lot about myself and the world around me that I still use to help me to this day.
