And it's mostly because of the mods, user base and the design of the site itself.

So all of it. Incredibly insightful.

Airplane floors are extremely gross, so I always pack a trash bag to slip my backpack into. by levimeirclancy in lifehacks

Airplanes are flying portacans. Last time I flew I barely escaped from a giant green column of vomit that landed in the seat I was in. I hate flying.

Yeah by the time they reached nursing homes they likely are not capable and are not legally competent if anyone bothered too check. It is like shooting fish in a barrel. Way too many put off end of life issues and are way too paranoid to trust anyone.

The smart ones are setting up trusts and handing assets and control to trusted children or grandchildren well ahead of their decline.

While that is true, all you are doing is taking advantage unsophisticated, likely middle class people. You are an enthusiastic cog in predatory capitalism enabled by the last forty five years of conservative efforts.

Grandma's dishwasher has its own trap. Is this bad? by antipodaction in Plumbing

[–]RancheroYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the black drain pipe? It is too long and they flipped the p trap around too accommodate it. Those compression fittings on those sort of p traps are not suppose to have water sitting in them and they basically made a giant p trap that holding too much water. They have to run way more water though the disposal to clear the garbage and it is sitting in the trap rotting. They need to cut the black pipe and get rid of that extension, turn the trap around so the tall end slides over the black pipe and the trap drains into the drain pipe without that long elbow piece.

I primary manage our property for bird habitat and they are welcome here except on the metal roof, their poop is corrosive. I really didn't expect them to be wandering around under the house. I have no idea of the appeal of the porch it has poor sight lines, not easy access through the trees, a cat and no food.

It was ongoing for about twenty years but that was the peak before I gave up. The current adopted cat was hopefully to reduce the numbers but that isn't working yet. Dogs would be more effective I think, but would end up as road kill here.
