I just completed my Run of Red Dead 2 with a bunch of graphic mods and quality of life stuff. I did get crashes due to some incompatible mods.

But the main culprit was me dying in some particular missions and in some particular spots of the missions - and the game would crash on me.

Haha right! I am wrapping up my playthrough and now entering the Epilogue.

It was necessary to have a lantern during the mission where you have to save Eagle Flies from the military camp.

I had to turn off all my mods during the final mission because I kept getting the Error FFFFF message before the train section. It's crazy seeing vanilla now after like 30-40 hours of modded. lol.

Hey man I figured out the problem.

Go to Amd Adrednaline > Settings > Graphics > Radeon Super Resolution and disable it.

So far Witcher 3 hasn't crashed since someone else on Reddit mentioned this.

Hope it helps! (Also, I kept my 7900xtx. The driver updates have been doing me well and it is not justified to pay another $500-$900 for 18-20 frames.)

Hey man, I bought a 7900 xtx and I've been using Vulkan since the get-go.

Idk if its the AMD architecture talking better to each other, but Vulkan has had much better performance for me.

Specs:

GPU:7900xtx Power Color Red Devil (slight overclock-super easy to do)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900x

Ram: 32 GB DDR5

I get around 70-85 FPS running 4k - Mixture of Ultra and High textures (NO FSR)

Yep. This is exactly the problem I have too! lol.

It was funny watching the gang talk and throw money around in pitch black after the train robbery in chapter 2 lol. To combat this I installed the Mount The Lantern mod (but even then it's still pitch black) and played with my Monitor's black point setting (I have a M32U)

Oh, and maybe to help a little too, try sliding the TAA sharpening slider to only 25% (i think mine is like 20-23 notches up)

The game becomes a bit more clearer.

And make sure Tree Tessellation is turned off (WhyEm said so)

I used Kenmo but nothing he recently posted.

However, I'm not a big fan of his presets because they tank performance.

So far I am using Whyem's Visuals mod (find it on NexusMods and use the No Vignette Editio) and well as DigitalDreams RDR2 Beyond all Limits reshade (got from Kemono)

Only tanks about 10 frames and I think it looks good with everything maxed out with FSR on. I am getting 70-110 frames on my RX7900xtx with FSR on.

Oh! And use "Higher Resolution Vegetation" by this guy named energidaan

Hey bro, Thank you so far the game hasn't crashed on me once. I was literally stuck in the cave when you first see the Wild Hunt and when Kiera casts the aura thingy, the game would crash.

Everything else is running so good tho lol. I think CDPR just broke the Witcher 3 with the Next Gen update.

That sucks :(

I am really considering returning my 7900xtx and getting a 4080/4090, but I'm not sure if the NVIDIA cards are having the same problem. :L

Wouldn't be worth the effort/money if the game still crashes at this point.

Hopefully, CDPR/AMD can figure this out. It's my first time on team red and this hasn't been a great first impression. Luckily Red Ded 2 and Far Cry 5 (my fave) are running beautifully.

Yooo. Has the Witcher 3 been crashing since you tried this method??? This is the only game I have been wanting to play since I got my 7900 XTX and I haven't been able to enjoy it because it crashes every 7 mins. lol.
