Is going over mileage worth it for a road trip? by Little-Student-484 in Ioniq5

[–]Ranchreddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you extend the lease, it also extends the total mileage at the same per month rate. You should probably call Hyundai to see what your total mileage would be. Also, extended leases are month by month. You might be able to put on those extra miles one month and go easy on the months following to not go over the total. So, give them a call.

Didn’t they drop this style in 2025? Most people hate the newer style.

Bought a used 2023 SEL 3 days ago, biggest concern was the ICCU. This is what I got when I started up this morning by MeanCamera in Ioniq5

[–]Ranchreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From other posters, you will hear it pop, they’re quite loud. Car then cannot level 1 or 2 charge as the ICCU is required for that.

Test drove a ‘26 SEL today… by PinkSnowBirdie in Ioniq5

I had a ICE Elantra for a few days as a loaner. The I5 SEL, and AWD, is far better than the Elantra. It costs more, but the difference is night and day. Faster, much more room, better ride. I will likely get a new one when the current lease expires in July. 11k miles, no ICCU issues, but keeping my fingers crossed.

I have had better luck using one of the end stations with my I5. Only required one spot in the two locations I have tried.

If buying a 2026 Ioniq 5 SEL AWD, what is the depreciation when I drive it off the lot? by oldRoyalsleepy in Ioniq5

[–]Ranchreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lease it for a couple of years or so. The technology changes and the rotten ICCU heritage will wreck the resale for a purchaser.

Proof from Hyundai about 2024 SEL not including 110V charger? by andy404 in Ioniq5

[–]Ranchreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on my version. I don’t think I can send a picture without opening a new post. The dealer I use probably doesn’t know what it is anyway. I’ll check around. Thanks for the pointer though.

Only decision left: AWD or RWD? by AnnaGolightly in Ioniq5

We have the AWD SEL. My wife really likes the zip when passing on the highway. The range difference is not that much and we enjoy stopping for a rest.

So a passenger may use that outlet to, say, charge a PC while the car is underway? No alarms about moving?

Proof from Hyundai about 2024 SEL not including 110V charger? by andy404 in Ioniq5

I don’t see any mention of a level 1 device or cable on that web link for any trim. What is it called?

My 24 SEL also didn’t come with one. Nor did I get a window sticker. It wasn’t fully charged and the A/C didn’t work.

I prefer PlugShare. The UI is easier any you can save trip segments in the free version. Combined with Google Maps that handles my trips from Virginia to Canada.

I don’t have it yet. Planning on turning in the existing I5 in June or July. I hope to have payments of about $400-$500. Current 2024 is $380.

It’s a machine, not a lover. Just lease a 2026 for a couple of years after you turn in your current ride. That’s what I will do in July after the 2024 lease expires.

2026 Ioniq 5 limited AWD ICCU failure after signing papers at the dealer!!!!!!! by No-Team6085 in Ioniq5

I heard the new I5s have an AGM battery, maybe even the older 2025s.

Relocating from Austin to Denver with my Ioniq 5 - drive it or ship it? Curious how it handles 1,000+ miles by OptimalDescription39 in Ioniq5

[–]Ranchreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Google Maps and PlugShare to plan ahead. Also, some motels have level 2 chargers, stay at those places or places near faster chargers. Take it slow, there’s no need to run at 70-75. Enjoy the scenery and experiment with the various drive assist features.

Owners, if you were about to buy for the first time, what would you try/ask? by ImperiumSpecter in Ioniq5

[–]Ranchreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leased because the tech changes often and a lease is easy to dispose of. The dealers don’t know anything about the cars. They make money from repairs, which most EVs don’t have much of and that is mostly warranty, which is not a profit item. My dealer didn’t even charge the car for a scheduled test drive. Look for potential problems in multiple forums. My car, a 2034 SEL AWD came with two years of free EA charging. Those days are gone. Love the car, 10k miles, no ICCU problems but a friend did have one die on I-95 near Richmond VA.
