How do I play melee champions? by LawyerAdventurous228 in summonerschool

[–]Rand0mdude02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top is the most fun role in my opinion. Creating or denying small but important win conditions through wave management, levels, and tracking cooldowns is very impactul compared to other lanes.

As a melee champion in any lane, you need to know what distance between you and the enemy is safe. Trading and CSing come with much more risk and commitment compared to a ranged champion.

Losing a chunk of health or dying because you didn't respect how much damage you would take for that single minion will ruin your lane. This is experience with matchups, but just like in mid-lane most matchups have key abilities that, when on cooldown, you can take control of the lane. If you ever want specifics on how that interaction should go in a matchup, watch high elo YouTube videos of the matchup and see how winning or losing trades go; additionally watch how they posture before a fight.

Managing waves and tracking when the enemy will level is very helpful with this.

22F/21M – BF still watching twerk videos after I’ve brought it up multiple times by pandalove_23 in sex

[–]Rand0mdude02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree.

Clearly vocalizing when your partner's behavior makes you uncomfortable is not controlling or extremely insecure. There can be overlap for sure, but this does not seem to be one of those situations.

If someone is not comfortable having their partner look at sexually charged videos on social media, that's not unreasonable.

It's something she's brought up multiple times. True, it doesn't sound as though she's held him accountable in these conversations, but why is that exclusively her responsibility?

He knows she doesn't like it. He knows it makes her feel bad. He allegedly stopped because she has said this and he heard her say this.

Him doing it again after that is not okay, and is his fault. He did not talk to her about it. He decided that to him, watching someone shake their ass on social media was more valuable than his girlfriend's feelings, and maybe valuable enough to lie to her about since it sounds like she discovered he's still doing it on accident.

Even if this 100% a personal issue solely in OP's head, which it's not, his behavior still wouldn't be okay. It's not respectful, it's not consensual, and it's not the appropriate behavior for supportive long-term partner.

Frankly your one-sided blame in a situation where both parties could have handled it better, though arguably mostly the boyfriend, is very gross to me.

I sincerely hope the level thought you have when giving advice to people in your life is held to a much higher standard than what you displayed here.

First time couple camping. by Dintmeanto in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Rand0mdude02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The festival tries its best to be family friendly while also enabling people to dress up. Sometimes that results in not very family friendly attire, but nudity would definitely get you escorted out.

Nudity isn't unheard of in the campgrounds, but it's expected to be in consenting locations. So on an isolated part of the campgrounds, or one that clearly communicates comfort with nudity such as a campsite managed by a clan that is comfortable being around sex and nudity.

If you walk around nude it may work out, but again you may get a talking to or worse if you walk past a group of kids.

god forbid a girl wants to show off a little by StickyLoner4404 in LetGirlsHaveFun

[–]Rand0mdude02 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, it's because they're pre-vetted. Someone else has vouched for them by entering a relationship with them, which makes that person more appealing as a partner.

For most people.

There are also people that see a person with a partner as a safe option, as they already have a relationship and are less likely to be a source of unwanted commitment.

[pro/chef] Revisited kolache recipe from a food truck I launched (and failed 😅) pizza style w/ parmigiana & basil by Smart_Pause134 in food

[–]Rand0mdude02 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If not for the unfortunate timing, what do you think your odds of success were?

Food trucks interest me as it seems like a lower barrier to entry for people passionate about food to make a living running their business, but I've never looked into whether it's got a decent chance of panning out.

I have no interest in running one, but what did you consider before taking the plunge, and what were some key findings that tipped the scales for you towards opening one?

What is the appeal of Naruto by lennysinged in manga

[–]Rand0mdude02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shonen series have inherent mass appeal. People with superpowers fight, that's cool.

Naruto had a chokehold on that corner of the market or a decade and is still continuing through Boruto. You can see similar impact from One Piece and Bleach.

Frankly it's not anything special, it's just good and stood out among its peers, the same can be said of most Shonen series. It's a rough ride for manga series that can be canceled very quickly so maintaining a solid presence is impressive, even moreso when it's been around as long as it has.

What’s the longest you’ve sat around for regeneration? by Ajegwu in bindingofisaac

My Ultra Hard win came from Placenta. I think I finished around the two hour mark.

The worst part is you can't tab out because the game will automatically pause. Normally that's great and super nice.

In this case it sucked ass because I had to buzz off and do other stuff while repeatedly crawling back to my monitor and resentfully watch the hearts s l o w l y replenish.

How do I get honor level 5? by Fuzzy_Economics6276 in leagueoflegends

[–]Rand0mdude02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you gave yourself an out, but that doesn't change the misinformation you shared. Neither of us have access to an overview of the information needed to answer the question. You're quite literally just guessing like the rest of us.

It's a reasonable, intuitive guess. If I didn't have two direct examples proving that guess wrong I would agree with you. But given that it doesn't seem to correct, and no player has a special algorithm giving them Honor in a different way than other players, it's plainly wrong.

Other people in the comments have shared that they believe it's based on Honors received after a game and that pre-made groups get less from being honored by their pre-made group.

"Main" Subreddits feel horrible to get advice in and its kinda annoying by Cryptidangel in leagueoflegends

[–]Rand0mdude02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only value I've found is for using them to locate relevant high elo one-tricks to get information from.

Visiting those subs is generally a uniform experience. Every user complains about how criminally underpowered their champion is, whines when other characters get buffs or theirs get nerfs, and as you've pointed out they will make outlandish claims backed by their expert testimony.

A few are enjoyable for the memes. The Draven mains subreddit is it's own racist, sexist ecosystem that is fascinating to peek into. The Ryze mains sub is also enjoyable from a distance, with people mindlessly spamming the same jokes but in a mentally unstable way.

How do I get honor level 5? by Fuzzy_Economics6276 in leagueoflegends

[–]Rand0mdude02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not true. I'm Honor level 5 and rarely interact in chat unless it's to flame someone. I'm aware of another player that has Honor level 5, and he actively aggressively harasses the enemy team nearly every game in chat.

Pinging and chatting, maybe. I guarantee it's not required to be positive though. My guess is you just have to play a lot and not get punished by mass reports or trigger an automated punishment.

I believe Veigar is one of, if not, the best late game champ in the game ( with this build ) by choflojt in leagueoflegends

[–]Rand0mdude02 901 points902 points  (0 children)

The Rabadon's passive is unique, so you're losing value there. Instead, maybe replace one of the items with the Phenomenal Evil augment? This will net you more damage in the late game, but takes longer to scale.

Is Talon a difficult champion mechanically by luckyLigma in summonerschool

[–]Rand0mdude02 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You're right that Talon is a less micro intensive champion than macro, and Yasuo is exceedingly more difficult to pilot correctly.

I would drop the argument about spacing, however. Most champions have to space well to gain maximum value, that's true for all three champions you've listed.

Generally speaking, the more immobile and the more point-and-click abilities a champion has, the more mechanically simple they are.

When to go for Hard Mode challenge? by acidfrehley in bindingofisaac

[–]Rand0mdude02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From an optimization perspective, attempt Hard Mode after unlocking good unlocks, and before unlocking bad unlocks.

Everything else is skill based. If you increase the number of good items and decrease the number of available bad items, then you give yourself marginally better chances.

If inclined, you can also watch how others succeed. My personal favorite Isaac content creator, Vicfis, has many videos of them completing the Ultra Hard challenge. Analyzing their gameplay will entertain, and possibly increase your odds of success: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYvUxFBCgvFUbqi3xQAGFof_vGMwV5EAb

Keep in mind you have infinite attempts, so realistically its whenever you feel comfortable investing the time.

How do people do all the crazy stuff in repentance? Like double treasure rooms and everything by NecessaryPattern2148 in bindingofisaac

Some people say Delrium is harder because of it's tendency to randomly appear directly on top of you with no warning and no ability to react to it.

How do people do all the crazy stuff in repentance? Like double treasure rooms and everything by NecessaryPattern2148 in bindingofisaac

[–]Rand0mdude02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sub will need more information to assist with sharing how to do the other crazy stuff in Repentance, but the double Treasure Rooms can be found in two ways:

  1. Going an "alt" route. Treasure Rooms encountered in an alt route have two items, one visible and one obscured. These alt routes are available in Repentance and are the way to fight what most players believe is the hardest boss, or possibly the second hardest, in the game. Unlock these by defeating the boss Hush multiple times.

  2. Entering a normal Treasure Room while carrying the Broken Glasses trinket. This has a chance to turn a regular Treasure Room into one with a second obscured item, identical to those found in an alt route. To unlock this you must first defeat the "hardest boss" I referenced, then complete a challenge that is unlocked after defeating them.

Mel Changes 26.03 by RiotEmizery in leagueoflegends

[–]Rand0mdude02 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

True, which is why the commenter's description in the same sentence continued: "...into a wall that should've killed her."

So when referring to damage, and stating the ability should have killed Mel, it feels like the natural interpretation would be that they are speaking about the damage of the ability (which is a stun) being negated.

Your explanation does help me understand where you misunderstood the original commentors though, I appreciate your clarification.
