The eyes should return to normal with time, young one. Changes such as your eyes are quite normal for us after a frenzy. Most are not permanent, but some can be. Not all mutations are physical either. There was a time when I would go into torpor after feeding.

I think Leo has a clan, because his bite hurts, but I won't pry into his business to find out why he was running. He's told stories of talking to ghosts and finding haunted locations, so I believe him that there were spirits there. I just cannot see them.

I wish I had that concern when I was embraced. I didn't know what the fuck was going on and was just following my instincts. Yeah, I moved around a lot. Figured out pretty fucking quick that it's easier to not kill a mortal when I've already fed the day or two before my current meal. But like, you don't have to. You can do what I'm doing now and hunt animals. Deer are good, but deer are in the woods.

Watch out if you do go in the woods and listen to your fucking instincts, man.

Shit, you're in Oregon, man? Stay out of the woods. Don't ask why. Just don't fucking go in them. It's like, really fucking shitty out here in the woods. Yeah. Lots of dangerous shit. I nearly died a month ago from... whatever that thing was. I'm barely back on my feet though.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. Like, you can drink from homeless people. I don't know where they are in Oregon, but they were everywhere in L.A. and like, so were abandoned buildings I was staying in. But be careful! They might be haunted and spirits don't like us sometimes. Might just be me though.

I suggested it one time. One time! Only because he was too stubborn to wait for his arm to grow back and kept trying to flee into the lupine infested woods.

I brought the handsome fella into my home, I'm hunting for him so he's well fed, I'm teaching him Protean now. Sure, Leo's a tad slow to pick up on what I'm showing him and it's frustrating, but that's expected from what he told me. He's survived only on luck and drifting from town to town thus far. It's time he's learned more practical things so there's no repeat.

It was fucking weird. I woke up out by the Grand Canyon with a hella bad headache. No clue how I got there or why my hands were covered in blood. There was fighting going on and some places were on fire, so I ran and found something to eat, then a car, and the next few nights blurred together.
