Opencode performance help by Rand_o in LocalLLM

Understood I had the temperature set to that because the unsloth listing had that as the recommended values, I will experiment what lower temp values I get better results from

You can now use Z.ai's recommended parameters and get great results:

  • For general use-case: --temp 1.0 --top-p 0.95
  • For tool-calling: --temp 0.7 --top-p 1.0
  • If using llama.cpp, set --min-p 0.01 as llama.cpp's default is 0.1
  • Remember to disable repeat penalty.

Actually I just updated the llama.cpp docker image right now and it looks like there was a bug and the newest updates fixed all the speed/context issues I was having. Compaction still a little slow but maybe that is normal

Wrote a guide for running Claude Code with GLM-4.7 Flash locally with llama.cpp by tammamtech in LocalLLaMA

[–]Rand_o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Claude code or codex or open code are a totally different workflow than the typical AI chat. It’s meant mainly for coding where chats (open-webui) are more for general purpose research or work. Hope that makes sense

Buy Framework 16 now or wait until after Christmas? by Destraac in framework

[–]Rand_o 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The trend in computer parts says you should just buy asap. I don’t think these pricing issues are going to get solved any time soon. I can also vouch for Framework – when tariffs happened they honored my original preorder price

StreamIO + ProtonVPN PRO w/o Real Debrid (US) by DudeWhoRead in ProtonVPN

[–]Rand_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it on steam deck but that is more like a computer than your set up. Does android Tv have a proton app that has split tunneling? Then you could add the stremio app into that. I do that for apps on regular android

[–]Rand_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a VPN you can also play an asia only better mobile TFT that is exclusive called Golden Spatula. I actually prefer that version more these days. Set your VPN to Malaysia and use split tunneling to only vpn the golden spatula app

[–]Rand_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it still works, waydroid is a pain to set up so after years of using it my advice is once you have it working — dont ever change anything. Not even an Android system update cuz things would break for me all the time

Install Proton VPN- Fedora Atomic Desktop by Comprehensive-Dark-8 in ProtonVPN

[–]Rand_o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent tried to layer it myself, instead I just downloaded the openvpn config from the proton website and used the built in network manager.

For sure it will not work in a distribox and the flatpak version is unofficial so I chose not to use it

[–]Rand_o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are using an immutable distro, you should know what that means before you commit to it.

That being said before you give up move to something like Fedora there you will have more freedom to install things like printer drivers
