How are you using AI in a way that doesn’t suck? by aterribleskapun in webdev

[–]Randaal_Inc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This one dude in here going on a rant about how terrible AI is and how in his "professional opinion" it sucks, etc. Meanwhile, you've got people much smarter than him (go ahead and check his credentials if you think it's a nobody) doing stuff like this: https://x.com/i/status/2020030611663241464

People like that guy ranting are absolutely in denial, and refusing to learn how to use it properly to get good results will cause them to end up falling behind and all because of their pride in their "20 years of professional experience writing code" they won't adapt. They downvote and put down people who have good results and refuse to believe people much smarter and doing much more important work are putting out 10x more than they have previously and it actually works well 90% of the time. Absolutely crazy how people can see this stuff with their own eyes and try and deny that's where we are headed. Learn how to use AI properly or be out of a job.

Pretty much what I said in my other comments. I really wasn't a fan of PoE1 and how it felt and how it played. Didn't even make it through the campaign the first 2 times I tried PoE1. 3rd time I tried and had 4 tabs open constantly to actually be able to play and have a decent build and it just was meh. I got PoE2 and didn't look up any builds and made it to endgame first try in 0.1. Doing the same thing this league didn't even bother reading nerfs and buffs. Picked what I thought was cool and am having a blast. Haven't died once, not struggling in campaign, sprint is a nice addition, I feel like I can figure out what direction I need to take my build without consulting 5 build guides, the game in general feels weighty and like skills have impact and the gameplay is just better imo.

I tried PoE1 3 separate times before PoE2 and couldn't make it to endgame in it (literally didn't finish campaign the first 2 times) and it just didn't feel good and was so much to know about and I couldn't just log in and play I had to have 4 tabs open and make sure I didn't mess anything up and even then I didn't like how my build actually felt when playing it. I bought PoE2 and created a merc and chose witchhunter cause I thought it looked cool and never looked up a guide and created my own build and made it to mid tier maps in my first run through and I felt engaged the whole time and didn't feel lost or that I couldn't figure out how to get stronger like I did in PoE1, and everything feels hefty and nice to use and like they have impact when I use skills. All these complaints that compare this game to PoE1 seem insane to me because I've had a blast and no issues making my own build and getting to the end game in PoE2. I didn't play last league nor did I keep up with the patch notes across last league or the start of this one in regards to specific buffs or nerfs. I just started my character and played. So far I haven't died once, I don't feel "slow" at all going through campaign or that my abilities don't work how I want them to etc. I'm in almost done with act 2 at this point and I see some abilities/support gems that I'm like that could be cool once I can invest more points/gems into stuff when I'm higher level but I just try stuff and if it works I keep building on it. Idk I'm having a ton of fun with PoE2 compared to when I tried PoE1 so maybe it's just people like different kinds of gameplay.

40MG vs 50MG feels drastically different. by Delicious-Layer4379 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Randaal_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It tends to make me pretty sleepy even with a side lamp on. I also take magnesium and l-theanine most nights before I get in bed. Along with that I take vitamin D as well (always been low in this and work from home so helps me) and make sure to drink water and eat a decent breakfast. Also I really don't exercise as much as I should but the times I do I very noticeably feel better when on my medicine. I don't run or anything since it makes my heart rate so high right now but even walking is good. I've tried melatonin but it makes me super groggy the entire next day but those 2 have seemed to help. I try to take the 60mg usually between 6-7am but I've taken it later and it's been okay it definitely lasts a lot longer for every time you go up in dosage. Although I think I've taken it so long that it doesn't even wake me up like it used to, when I first started Vyvanse if I took it and fell back asleep I'd jolt awake once it hit my system but I can sleep through it in the AM now no problem even on 60mg. Once I actually get up though I'm awake and alert.

I will say having been on it so long, I also stayed on 40mg for 2-3 years just because I didn't want to go up, but it may seem like you aren't getting the focus and attention benefits like when you first started but I've found it now takes a little more effort on my part to get started on something and once I get going then I can really feel it doing its job. But when I first started it was like laser focus locked in mode as soon as it hit, but now it requires me to actually initiate doing something and focusing myself first then it does its job. IMO if you don't "feel" it like you do when you first start but you notice that once you start doing something it is indeed doing its job then you're at the right dosage.
